New Watch In Collection: Rolex OP 41 Silver

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 that I chose to add to my collection was the version with the Silver Dial. In many ways , the Silver Dial along with the Black and Blue dials are viewed as quite plain . On the other hand, the Tiffany Blue, Yellow, Coral, and Green are viewed by many as the highlights of the model range. In addition, Rolex ended production on the Tiffany Blue, Yellow, and Coral.

Once these watches were released, I contacted my AD in 2020 and the wait was long as I finally got the call in May of this year.

I have owned my OP 41 Silver for about 2.5 months and it brings me much enjoyment . I know the watch is viewed as an entry level Rolex but wearing it is as positive an experience as wearing my Submariner No Date 124060 or my GMT Master II Pepsi.

The OP 41 124300 has the same movement as my no date Sub (3230, I believe) and is extremely accurate. I love having a Rolex with a lighter colored dial like the Silver as a break from the 2 Black dialed Rolexes. Also, the sunburst dial on the Silver looks different depending on the lighting which is very nice.

Those are my thoughts on the OP 41 Silver. The Model in general 124300 fits really well on my wrist and lies flatter than the Sub or GMT. They are all great watches but I wonder how other Rolex Oyster Perpetual owners feel about the watch and how they view it in their Rolex collections. Which color dial do you own and why?

I've got the same watch, picked up about a year ago. Not my first choice for an OP41mm, but I'm glad I got it. Very clean and classic looking, and it goes with anything.

Congrats on yours!

Getting one of the OPs is like gaining admission into one of the ivies. It's all good.

New Watch In Collection: Rolex OP 41 Silver

First, congrats! It’s a great piece, entry level, or not! I put in a request for the 36 mm silver dial, a little over a year ago, and got the call 17 days ago. It was my favorite in the lineup, by far. It has a retro vibe with the yellow gold hands, indices and Rolex crown on the silver dial. It’s classic looking, and classy! Since it’s my first new Rolex, in years, I can’t compare it to others, but I do own nearly 100 other nice watches, of various brands. It’s been difficult to pry the OP off my wrist. Mine is running at near perfect. When I checked it yesterday it was @ +1, after a week.

I absolutely love it!

Now that the Milgauss blue dial has been discontinued I consider the OP41 Silver the best watch in the entire Rolex lineup.

Looks great, wears great. Unique in the lineup. Can wear with anything. Always looks classy.

Congrats

I don’t have any ownership experience to share as I don’t have an OP but if I were to get one, it would be this or a black dial….then blue.

This one (and the black dial) are currently one of the best GADA watches of the modern Rolex’s if you only want one…imo.

I bought matching Silver dial OP's 41 for me and 31 for my girlfriend to celebrate our first vacation together Feb2022. We didn't plan for them, we stopped in to my AD before we left and it just came up during conversation and he just brought out a few.

This pair will be sentimental for us and it's a special day when we go out match-matchy.

I really like that the silver didn't get the hype like some of the other colored dials. There's two guys where I work that have fake green dial 41 OP's. You can have one of those delivered to your door for about $150US here in the middle-east. Makes me NOT want one.

Thanks For The Comments on OP 41 Silver

Here is a shot of the watch with the Chromalight impacting the silver and gold accents in the dial.

Lovely reference. I love it for not shouting out I'm a Rolex (compared to other colours and models)

I've been waiting 2yrs for this and still nothing. Hopefully it won't be much longer!

Picked mine up last week too.

Never thought I would go for the Silver until I saw it in person.

Classic!

Photos off Wrist

Someone asked be if I could share a few photos of the watch off the wrist. It’s hard to totally eliminate wrist hair but I do my best . Anyway, these are non wrist shots.
