Andrew Shear (Sheartime), Jacek (HQ Milton) or Michael Morgan (Iconic Watch Company). There are other dealers who have great pieces but these are among the top 3 that I have come across at least. There is a sticky on here too about the dealers.

Depends on what you want to buy. There are many reputable dealers out there.

Thoughts?

There's literally a sticky thread on top of this subforum called 'List of vintage watch dealers'.

C'mon man...

If you care about the quality of a watch you're buying, don't ever buy online. Buy it in person. The people that buy sight unseen obviously have money to burn, or they just don't care. They are more interested in getting a good deal than a legitimate watch. Nothing is faked more, misrepresented more and can look fine but come from a shaky source than a watch. The vintage market is especially crazy these days, as values have gone through the roof. Take your time and buy in person.

The problem with buying in person is that you can feel rushed, and/or forget to check out all the little details that need checking, even if you are well acquainted with vintage (which, as first timer, I believe the OP may not be). I actually prefer buying online, as I can spend a couple of hours or more carefully going over the A-Z of what needs examining, and put the pics up here if necessary. Either that or take clear pics of the watch you see in person, and take a day/night to peruse them carefully.

Plenty of good vintage dealers here, who will treat you right and let you return if needs be.

Icon14 'yer rite, we know little 'bout "old Rolex"

Well it took 4mos of looking & learning for the W DJ, (which some may consider vintage), no hurry now doing the same for a real vintage.
It has to be older than our car.....

so....C'mon man.. where we go'n?....
