Red 1680 questions/thoughts (please)

Hello. Apologies for the nature of this post but need some help in thinking something through here. I am being offered a Red 1680 Mark IV (I believe) at a pretty great price (I believe).

Pictures follow (not the best quality but pictures I took live earlier today). Anyone care to talk me away from purchasing this one? I notice the magnification on the date isn't great and appears small compared to that on my 1655 and other vintage references.

Very little / no patina. The bezel seems a bit worn and missing the pearl obviously. The bracelet appears to be correct.

Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks much.

Honestly Thomas, I think you will be happier waiting for a nicer example.

Cheers my friend. I appreciate the feedback. Yes, it is a little rough isn't it? Best.

A polish of the crystal may just reveal a nice dial.
What do you believe is a good price?

The watch itself , judging from these pics, seems in a bit of a rough condition. Is the crystal very scratched or is it just dirty in the pics?

I honestly think, having the crystal polished would present a nice surprise. Seems that the dial and hands are in a very good condition.

Yes. Thank you. The dial looks in my opinion very good. The crystal is very scratched, but with a polish as you say that should come right out. Best

dial edge chip @ 2 min mark?

Is that dial edge chip @ 2 min mark?

Looking at your recent incomings, I think you are like me, want the best example that your money can buy and with that in mind, I say pass.

There is a chip on the dial between 12 and 1. 8k is not too bad considering the condition, but if you are like most of us, you will see better examples come up later and wish you would have waited.

8k is actually quite good for a red sub in this condition.

It looks ok for the price. You could go for it, if it is going to satisfy you. As mentioned above small details could change your tune in future, good luck
