I would not want to wear my expensive watch on a cheap nato strap or any other aftermarket bracelet. So only original bracelet for me. On 1861 speedy bracelet clasp there is a text Speedmaster Professional engraved so in my opinion that is specially designed and intended only for that Speedy pro. And that is my choice, even though it is not the most comfortable bracelet.

I love this topic! The Speedmaster is super versatile when it comes to straps/bracelets. I wear mine on the bracelet it came with, but also on all kinds of nato straps. Currently, I have it on a Hirsch black calf strap. The Forstner flat-link is also on the wish list. Can't really warm up though to the Forstner Comfit; anybody any experience?

The ST2 was only issued with a leather & nato strap, but I prefer it on a bracelet.

I voted for the bracelet because it goes with everything but my second choice would be leather. I hate NATOs and rubber belongs only on a diver.

The fact that there is no correct answer to this poll (an "all of the above" option should have been included) is why this watch is so amazing. Black croc with a tux, or nylon nato with some hiking boots, it can do it all. About the only combo I've ever seen that looked bad is that bracelet shown above which appears to have only been half assembled at the factory. Yikes!

It has such a retro vibe. I think it works on a black leather or gator strap the best but this is a watch that truly looks good on anything

Which do you prefer on a Speedmaster?

Yes! I’d also add canvas, wool, suede…pretty much any strap it can handle!

I have a 3861 hesalite that I bought on bracelet. I've tried leather and nato and enjoyed it like that for a couple days but always go back to the bracelet. The moment I put it back on the bracelet I know that's how it belongs, for me at least.

Unlike every other watch I have ever owned, the Speedy goes with EVERYTHING!!!! Love mine mostly on leather but it kills on a NATO and steel.

I also have to say that the Speedy is so incredibly versatile in terms of different straps. Last year I bought my 3861 Hesalit on a steel bracelet and also the black Cordura bracelet with folding clasp. And the winner is... both!
The Speedy looks equally stunning with both.
The steel bracelet is very, very supple, whereas the Cordura bracelet is a bit stiffer, especially in the beginning.

I've experimented with this NATO Beano strap. Still prefer the leather, though.

At the New Orleans airport, I saw a Delta rep wearing a brand new Speedy on the taper bracelet, and it looked awesome. We struck up a conversation about watches and talked for a few minutes. He had just gotten the watch and was super proud of it. The taper was noticeable and really looked nice.

I also like the sailcloth option you can get from Omega- when my local AD gets Omega in a month or so, I am getting the Speedy on bracelet, with sailcloth as option for switching it up.

Usually I prefer bracelets, but if I would have an Alaska, then I'm sure I would prefer the white NASA strap. For me that combo looks to be the absolute perfect match.
