apple watch ultra as daily

normally wear my Sub 41 24/7 but seriously thinking of getting the apple watch Ultra, anyone else own an apple watch and if so is it something you then miss when switching back to a 'proper' watch ?

I use my Apple watch all the time. Not sure what you mean by a "proper watch"?

I'm trying to distance myself from screens and notifications, I don't need it all happening on my wrist too. Never been sold on the smart watch idea me.

That’s my biggest problem too - I turned all of my notifications off on the Apple Watch and it’s fine but then I’d rather put on something else without a screen

I just can’t. I try to sell myself on the idea, just don’t like the look of the Apple Watches. I have my phone and my Rolex, all I need.

I think the Apple Watch on this forum gets a really bad wrap. I think EVERY watch has its place. I wear my Apple Watch to track fitness, sleep, and any time I feel it isn’t a good idea to wear a $10k+ watch. Which most people on this forum seem to all wear a casioak watch which in my mind is very watered down Apple Watch.

I have an Apple Watch ultra and love it and I also love all my mechanical watches. An Apple Watch is just as proper as any other watch.

Apple Ultra is the first Apple Watch I’ve enjoyed wearing. The bigger screen is useful, the titanium has a nice feel to it and I like the straps. I don’t use it for email and I don’t use it for text messages. I do have cellular with it though. I primarily use it for exercise, off grid hikes where I play with the backtrack feature, travel when I don’t want to be wearing a luxury watch, yard work/house work, if I want to be more low key at my regular job, or if I need to run errands and don’t want to carry my wallet and phone.

I've compromised enough by having several battery powered quartz watches, but these typically run for several years between battery changes. The idea of having to frequently recharge the battery in a smart watch is a big turn-off for me. No thanks.

I use it daily but not 24/7.

Working out, outdoor activists, sleeping.

Rolex is on outside those actives other than sleep. I have both on

I have an Apple Watch Ultra. I never wear it. Wore it maybe a week when I first got it. I would rather wear my Sub. The Apple Watch doesn’t do anything for me that I really use/need on a daily basis.

On workdays, I wear my Rolex on one wrist and my Apple Watch on the other. I know it’s weird, but it works for me. On weekends then it’s just the rolex.

I have a Apple Watch Ultra. I use it almost daily. Mainly when working out, but I find the timers also useful when grilling/BBQing/cooking. But I usually prefer to wear a mechanical watch when not doing one of those things. Just make sure to turn off notifications for apps that you don't want on all the time. The notifications on the wrist get really old really quick.

I don't have one, but I would only wear it while exercising. Watches are like art and the Apple watch is more function over form.
