Explain to me why 21.5mm lug width? So that BP can sell overpriced straps and potentially bracelets for this model?

I'm not sure how this pushes the design forward OR if this is a proper homage to the past.

I don't know. I can't tell.

If we must contend with a 21.5mm lug width, maybe we’ll have quick release straps/bracelets forthcoming. Similar to IWC’s approach.

Cool and all, but what are you going to swap it out with? At 21.5 your options are not much to zero.

If Blancpain goes this route, they’ll offer an assortment of proprietary straps options as IWC has. I’m sure they’ll be overpriced, but I would like the option. The current bar and sleeve attached with tiny bolt heads are terrible for swapping straps.

Fun fact this watch has almost identical proportions to a hockey puck with diameter/height = ~3.

i've read a 'Swatchified' 50 Fathoms is also in the works this year to commemorate and celebrate the 70th anniversary!

My SA reached out today offering me one of the 70th (I passed). He stated a buyer has to register their interest online for the boutique to be able to sell it. Thought I’d pass that info along for anyone interested

The only Fifty Fathoms they got right were the two Hodinkee ones.

I missed out on the No Rads and was pretty keen to see what Blancpain would do this year. All I can say is that it can only get better. This release is a big fat meh for me. Overpriced and underwhelming.

I was not impressed. One more FF, nothing special. I prefer at the limit a 45 version, titanium and blue.
Maybe I expected too much...
Small disappointment in summary, nothing spooky, a success but at an exaggerated price let's say it. Polished case whereas I prefer satin, platinum caliber is good but its design somewhat spoils the vision on the 1315, it should be more airy.
I'm happy with mine and won't add it up.

I note the 42 format. I would like them to standardize that for future collections. But that was expected with previous SL 40s, and it never happened.
I think that would be their salvation, it's between the 40 with a dial that's quite too small, and the 45 that doesn't suit all wrists or tastes.
We will see the future and their decision.

One detail I’m not sure has been mentioned here, from the Bp direct preorder email I received it appears the numerals are raised up, maybe like a ceramic clock of lume like from Tudor or moser. Cool detail if so. Doesn’t really change my view and NOT buying

I wonder how many pieces are actually available tomorrow vs. how many already allocated to boutiques?

All sales or preorders will be online exclusively, perhaps a pick up can be arranged at the Boutique or couriered to your door.

Wow. 42mm FF is cool. Love the size. Not a fan of limited editions though.

SOLD OUT in Australia as soon as the website went live. I doubt any were even available via the website for our market anyway.

I was likely not going to buy, but was refreshing in the US to see price from 7:58 onwards. The website first changed over to the information page around 8:03am and it was already posted as "sold out" when it loaded. I don't believe it was ever really in stock based on what I saw...

Same. I was interested but only if the price was reasonable since I already have a FF, website didn't switchover at 8am on the dot and when it did everything was gone. What a waste of time and crappy launch. Honestly, it's kinda bs not to publish the price in advance and then leave people to make a split second decision on presumably 15- 20k. It's not like dropping a pair of sneakers. Whatever, will wait for a titanium model....

Lol, yes. Pretty hysterical that they did not post the price anywhere as if it is some big secret and we won't find out later. Maybe the people who bought it also don't know :P

It ended up being 15k before tax or 19 after here in Europe. I thought that was pretty steep and didnt pull the trigger.

I stand corrected. I just refreshed the page at 8:32am in the US and one was available and in my cart. It is held for 7 minutes to complete the order.

It states 4-6 months for delivery and price is $17,400+tax = ~$19,000 US.

I probably would have genuinely considered it if the price was 2-3k lower.

$17.4k USD. Free shipping. Local sales tax collected.

The last 40mm Ocean Commitment III LE was $17.1k, so I’m surprised that people are surprised by the price. This seems very reasonable compared to other FF LE releases.

I was able to preorder mine here in Canada. Didn't think that I would succeed because we rarely see any allocations up here but to my surprise I was able to preorder. I also saw the price, which is almost 27k CAD with taxes and all. I also found the price a bit high especially since there appears to be no bracelet with the watch. But I like the 42mm case seize, it is a first for BP and pulled the trigger. Can't wait to see it in the metal.
