If you like dive watches I would recommend the SeaQ.

Unless I am missing something - and just like the 124270 Explorer recommended earlier - the SeaQ is not a thin sports watch at 12+mm thick

As one of the resident Czapek fanboys, you know my choice. And yes the Monochrome is still my mainstay 'daily beater' (when not on some brief whim wearing something else as the mood strikes). There's the nice integrated bracelet plus many strap options.

My main complaint... wish they offered an orange rubber strap.

Explorer 214270 (discontinued 39 mm) is the absolute best choice for your given conditions. It's just the perfect, unadulterated sport watch.

Of note, the 39mm explorer is actually thinner than the newer 36 mm version

I you don't need rubber, you could get a custom orange leather strap. I know Jean Rousseau will do one for the Antarctique, and I assume Camille Fournet will too.

Could not agree more. For modern-ish Rolex models, the 39mm Expy I is a gem. The best looking watch they've done since the pre-1988 Daytonas (in my humble opinion).

Vacheron Overseas Ultra-think 2000V if you can find one (and stomach the price). That's pretty much my unattainable grail watch.

There's also the OP41 (probably black or dark blue) and the AK for something a little quirkier.

I'll add to the Parmigiani Tonda PF Micro Roter crowd along with the info that it is 7.8mm thick.

Lots of good suggestions in this thread but if thinness is something you are looking for there is a huge difference between sub 8mm and even 10mm, much less those that go above that.

That exact Laureato was my first thought, but sounds like it's too big, since he's already considering the copper 38. Wish that 38 still came in more colors...

Fully agree.

I am mostly rotating between an 8.3mm thin sports watch and a 10mm thick tool watch. On the wrist that difference is already meaningful.

Some of the watches suggested here - such as the OP41 and the 124270 Explorer - are nearly 12mm thick. I don't see how those qualify as thin sports watches unless one's baseline for sports watches is a 14mm or 15mm thick diver or chrono.

Wow, thanks so much everyone! Amazing feedback.
Few thoughts:
VC 2000v is amazing but I've never even seen one for sale
Tonda is an interesting one but lacks lume and bracelet is a bit thick (judging from photos)
Mark XV is an interesting choice

So far it seems that Czapek is the way to go for me. I will also wait for the watches and wonders to see if any other brands hop on the SS integrated bracelet train and bring out some sexy pieces (LOOKING AT YOU BREGUET AND JAEGER)

What's your 8.3mm thin sports watch?

You'd be surprised how thin it wears. The domed crystal is probably included in the 12mm measurement.

will second an unpopular opinion here and recommend the piaget polo s. it's 1mm above what you suggested (42mm vs. 41mm) but it's thin, wears well, is fancy enough, and def. goes below the radar. I wore it for years in Europe w/o any comments from anyone except the wis crew.

Closest piece I own to your specifications is the IW324010 at 36mm and 10.7mm thick. Doesn't get much more understated than a fully brushed mid-size three-handed IWC with matte dial. Also a total strap monster if you want to change the look on a cold day. Hope you find what you're after!

I forget, was a bracelet required? If not, Blancpain Bathyscaphe 38, perhaps.

Also not a huge fan of the IWCs these days, and would probably sooner buy a Longines Spirit 37 for half the price. Unfortunately the matte version of the pilot 36 (above) is no more.

No love for the elite-powered (thinner) Zenith Defy line?

There's also the Baume Mercier Rivieras, which are stylish if not 1mm outside your specified diameter in either direction (36 or 42). Some of the others on the list are obviously much better watches, though.

Not exactly what you’re looking for, but the Rolex quartz models have integrated bracelets. Also check out Lange and Heyne.

Gotta say that my vote is for the Tonda PF. Hard to beat in terms of thickness, bracelet, and low-key flex.
