Details

Dial / Crystal: Glossy black dial is in excellent condition. Clearcoat on white outer track is showing some nice patina with minor signs of lift-off. Tritium lume on the dial is fully intact. Tritium lume in handset is intact with small dot (pin-size) missing on minute hand. Original crystal is in excellent condition and structurally sound.

Bezel: Original, bi-directional bezel

Movement: Venus 178

Case / Crown / Pushers: Very sharp, unpolished case. Light surface scratches on lugs and caseback. Some minor dings on underside of lugs. Original Breitling signed crown. Original pushers.

Bracelet: None, watch only

Accessories: None

Condition: This very attractive Breitling Navitimer 806, in all original condition, is well preserved. There is one watchmaker’s mark on the interior caseback. Movement is very clean. Watch can be fully wound with the sub-registers and chrono working properly. A movement service is recommended as the service history is unknown.

Comments: The original owner of the watch, who is unknown to me, lived in Canada. Although I don’t know the history of the watch, it may have followed this familiar pattern: The watch is purchased circa 1970, it’s worn and lovingly cared for by the owner, the watch is serviced sometime in the mid-70s, the Quartz Revolution takes over and in the early 80s the owner puts his manual wind Navitimer in a drawer where it will remain for the coming decades.
