AP Loupe Shots

I was bored so I took a 10x loupe and held it up against my iPhone camera. These were the results.

Amazing. These are some of the best shots of the silver 15400 i have seen. I try hard but can’t capture the right lights and color as these of my 15500 silver....

Agreed. I couldn’t believe that people on the Patek forum justified the poor quality of that aquanaut saying the OP was, “expecting too much from an entry level watch.” I don’t pretend to know much about pp but that particular watch looked bad.

I don’t get patek as a brand...

1) their only watches i like are nautilus or aquanaut but i would take royal oak over them anytime.
2) the watches i like are ‘entry level’ and regardless of price (AD price) they are finished not to a high standard as say a 7k Rolex. No one has every said that about any AP at any price.
3) you need to spend money on PM patek none of which i like. Like none. The opposite is true for AP.
4) the only people i see wearing a 5711 are rich kids in shorts and a t-shirts with daddy’s money—not even sure i want to be part of that crew...

Pp not for me i guess (and they dont’ care either....)...

I would say PP is known for their enamel and grand complication pieces that not many people can afford and own. I think the SS aquanaut and Nautilus pieces just became super popular in recent years, ever since rappers/ musicians started to put diamonds on their PP watches and everybody on instagram posted a 5711. I don't think PP focus was ever on making the best tool/ sports watches. Whereas I feel AP seemed to have a focus on more casual watches for a long time and their best sellers are the RO / ROC / ROO lines. But I agree I prefer a 15202/15500 over the 5711.

Fortune favours the bold. I've taken macros before, no more.
