That's what the email I got and deleted was likely about. Another reason added to my list of why I don't really use eBay anymore.

No.
What they are referring to are buyers contacting the seller via email and doing the transaction privately. eBay's email is not private, and they have filters to look for emails and phone numbers as well as key words like phone, email and text. |

Ummm...no, this isn't a commercial selling site and hope it never is. The classifieds already serve their purpose IMHO. And policing them already takes more time than Steve would like to see spent on keeping predators and fakirs out. Before this gets into a controversial debate that could shut this thread down, I'd like to not derail us with off-topic controversy. No rant by me or rancor - just suggesting that topic deserves its own thread if you'd like to start it with a poll or something similar. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Yes they ruled out links and email to thwart those efforts. But they do allow phone numbers by power sellers... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I looked at ebay several years ago and thought all the fees and paypal fees were ridiculous. I've sold one item and bought two in my lifetime and had a friend do it for me. The one item sold was an 80's Transformer toy. The guy bought it, received it, and then started complaining about the condition and wanted a discount. I said no, but offered a refund of his money AND shipping fees. He declined. What a POS. If I want to deal with that crap, I'll use craigslist. At least it's free.
