Interesting how that worked out. Too bad he couldn't just reply to emails and take care of his business.

Yes, very interesting.
Regardless of how this thing gets resolved I think the OP should tell us who had his watch for three years. While the OP may finally get some long delayed satisfaction, what's to stop this same scenario from playing out again to someone else?

Agree. If the vendor needs to be coerced with a TRF thread to do the right thing he's not someone I'd go to first for repair work. It would be helpful to know who he is so that we can be informed buyers.

I have a sense of deja vu with this thread.

X2. Don't understand how someone is willing to 'protect' a business that held his property for over three years.

Wonder if this is the OP's watch? https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=357119

Even if resolved, what does that really mean? Either the watch was repaired or it's being sent back in the same condition it was received after 3+ years. There is still the white elephant in the room.

Once you get the watch, name them, and let them defend themselves if your story is different to theirs.

If it is rik let him tell his side. No need to rush to conclusions. There are always three sides to every story and you rarely hear the side that matters before you make your judgment aka the truth.

Post 29 yesterday (from the OP) says the independent referenced this thread. He had time to read it, but not to respond?

Agree, but it seems at least that he's had the opportunity and as yet has chosen not to enter the discussion.

Also, i recall a similar thread not too long ago describing a similar set of circumstances from what appears to be this same independant. I have no personal dealings with this independent, but based on these experiences I wouldn't plan to, regardless of his side of the story.

If it walks like a duck...

I often wonder with situations like this how many people don't tell their stories, esp about sacred cows.

You may be on to something there. The loyalists tend to flame anyone who raises a complaint, which makes it hard to know when a guy starts trending negatively.

There are other respected independents who communicate better. I think I'll put this one in the do not use bucket.

No. On Thursday of last week, I was sent a video of it running, with a plan to ship it back to me early this week.
