This was messed up by a previous student no way that would work. Some screws are missing, springs are damaged.
But... It's Cartier, thank god for that. Oh wait, we don't have spare parts. Rip dream.

Put all pieces in a plastic glass and pour salted water in. Wait few hours and extend the pieces again without drying them, take a look next week and.....
Now you know what to do!!! Hahaha.

This one from earlier this week was pretty cool. A battery powered movement (pre-quartz), the battery powers the coil, the coil then generates a magnetic field which makes the balance wheel run. The balance has two small magnets.

If all else fails I always recommend using duct tape or super glue. But then again I grew up watching Emmet on the Andy Griffith show and he always used a hammer when all else failed.

I've had moments where a hammer would have been a satisfying tool to use. There are movements that want to annoy you, everything that can go wrong will go wrong with those.

Just wondering, is a kind of exercise? I mean, start a new service without any information or your colleague just leave it?
BTW, who is the manufacturer?
Edit: Cartier, sorry!

In school, so we just get a movement and have to clean it and repair it if needed. But since we cannot order parts for this movement it's not possible so I'll have to work with what I have.
The previous student(s) lost 2 screws, messed up a few springs, there were some scratches and the chrono mechanism was assembled incorrectly.
