It was another Patek AD visit today

I love that place. Anyway the primary goal was to get my Nautilus bracelet resized, and I took the oportunity to take along the Pepsi at the same time and get the Super Jubilee resized as well.

Ok so no respectable WIS would chicken out and require help from their AD with such a menial task.

Call me chicken but then again it did give this WIS an oportunity to look at so more watches, so there.

Anyway, I had a good long conversation about watches and so forth. How's this going, how's that going, what's that look like, would you like to give me a Patek for free.

I didn't bring back a free Patek.

I didn't bring back any inside intell.

I did enjoy talking about watches and such.

I did get a chance to once again see the 5170 and a 5980.

I got my bracelets resized for both watches.

So I'm having a good day, hope your having one as well.

Sounds like you had a great time at your AD Dan! Too bad he didn't let you leave with a freebie, what a rough business man...

Thank you for sharing!

Dan, help me out here - you have your local Patek AD yet your watch was shipped to you. Did you not purchase it from the local AD or did they drop ship directly to you?

I am starting to close in on one and am looking for advice as to the most cost-efficient way to acquire it...

This is how I see things:

How will you ever know if it's possible if you don't ever ask.

Just because you recieve one refusal, don't give up. Stick in there and keep fighting. One can never reach all of their goals if they don't keep trying.

So as I see it, I have only begun to fight. I will, I must, and I will eventually bring home that free Patek.

Although I purchased a number of watches from my AD I didn't purchase this one from him. My Rolex AD is a Patek AD as well. I purchased this one from a trusted seller here and it was DavidSW. It was a smooth transaction and it worked well for me.

Keep in mind, I've only purchased just one Patek. I am by no means an expert in purchasing Patek watches. However Pateks are a bit harder to find than Rolex watches. It depends on what you are looking for, who has it availible, and possibly how long you are willing to wait. Discounts for some models are not even possible.

There are a number of variables that are different when buying a Patek versus a Rolex. Patek only makes 40,000 watches a year compared to the 700,000 to 900,000 a year that Rolex makes.

So I would recomend you do your research and decide what works best for you. Compare prices and such, but remember no matter how you decide to get it buy the seller first.

Dan you're cheating!

Seriously, you have a great way to think! That's how I got to take pictures of the DD-II I tried in Switzerland, the lady I was with asked the jeweler because I was too chicken to even dare asking it and she kindly and joyfully accepted!

...So? Can I have your Nautilus for free?
