Just wondering what is a "right" job?
I am glad that the UK ADs don't ask for name/business cards as I don't have one. |

Imagine handing over such a business card to Eva, Anna or Sarah at London Salon or Fiona at Boodles. |

Nope I don’t have a history with Tourneau. I had to call some friends to make them even take my name for the list.
He said he don’t need a deposit as through referral. Give me a customer number and reference number. Don’t know how legit they allocate the pieces. Based on the order number? |

You won’t believe I have been in love with this piece for close to 7 years. Came close to buying this twice. But didn’t want to buy this one from Grey market and never thought the waiting time would be this crazy. |

I think sadly on these there is really no true timeframe. It’s whenever the AD gets one and wants to give it to you. I’m guessing for your average buyer with an average purchase history it’s 2-3 years. For your below average joe with below average purchase history it’s never.

One of my relatives is a medical doctor at one of the prestigious private hospitals in Hong Kong - got 5711/1A blue in 3 months with zero purchase history. One other relative who used to be a high ranking medical doctor but decided to retire early got shooed out of all the ADs in Hong Kong when they found out he was retired and did not have a current business card to give. |

With zero prior Patek purchase history from this AD your chances are slim to nil on a 5711,5712,and 5167a. Waiting lists move constantly depending on your purchasing worth or relationship with an AD.

I've had 3 doctor friends (one who heads a department at the top private hospital, another one is a university professor) - all of them got 5711/5712 within a few months (this is all in 2018/2019). I got mine with several months' wait as well (but that was in 2017). At a recent Libertas private dinner to showcase their perpetual calendars (including a dinner lecture from one of their repair specialists) I was specifically told that doctors are given preferential treatment in Nautilus queues - but they do background checks to make sure that doctor actually exists (registration data is searchable online) and they make calls to the clinic/hospital on the name card to make sure. |

I emailed some of the Swiss ADs in 2017 asking for 5712 as I was (mistakenly) under the impression that it was really hard to get. I thought my email would go straight into the trash as they probably got enquiries like that all the time. (I got my 5712 within a few months of putting my name down at WOS London in 2017, followed one week later by a phone call from my AD in Hong Kong with another 5712 offer.) |

WOS London asked for my business card - I live in Hong Kong - and I got my 5712 within a few months with no previous purchase history. |

Yeah I don’t think our boi here has a chance in this environment. In HK I could see the job being relevant tho... I understand the culture pretty well.

I'd bite the bullet buy some dress watches maybe a chrono plus a 5196 on proviso they package it with 5712a. On the off chance it was discontinued before you get it shift your name to the 5726 blue.
Personally I wouldn't pay any deposit to an AD. Best of luck |
