Patek, which one?

Hello,

I'm 26, my dream was to own a Patek Philippe since I started my collection, 5 years ago. I have the opportunity right now to buy one, but I have a question.

I have tried different brands, 7 Seiko, Luminox, Fortis, Casio, 2 Longines, Oris, Breitling, 2 Omega, 2 Panerai, 5 Rolex, Blancpain... but I always said, finish with a Patek. Well, after try different brands and watches, finally I've decided to sell all the watches that I own right now (2Pam 1Omega) but keep my Rolex 14060m ''no cosc'' THE BEST WATCH EVER!

My question, what do you think, I should buy a Nautilus 5711/1a or Aquanaut 5167a on rubber strap?

The movement inside I think is the same. Just the outside is different.

As I said, I'll keep my 14060m and the Patek, both for everyday watch :)

I will finish to collect watches if I buy the Patek? yes, I'll try. I will dedicate my time to other things, and I will buy a Patek in the future with complications, and give the Nautilus or Aquanaut to my future son.

The Patek will be my present for my hard work during this 6 years

Thank you very much for your time

The aquanaut has been one of my favorite pieces, so that'd get my vote. You can't really go wrong with either. Enjoy the process!

Well the process now is a little bit hard, cause I should sell before buy, but I hope will be quickly

Thanks

Nautilus for me also, on bracelet.
Otherwise, it'd be the Aquanaut on the bracelet also.

Thanks for your comment.

I can say that I only like the Aquanaut with rubber. They Nautilus I like it with bracelet and leather. I think, that I'll go for the Nautilus, cause if I keep the 14060 (black dial) will be better to have other choice, an amazing blue dial

Without a doubt 5711. That watch is as good as money in the bank. Best of luck on a great brand and watch.

Either are amazing! I would say go for the Nautilus to get a different dial as the Sub is black.

Well since you already have a Submariner I'll get the Aquanaut with the rubber strap, I think it will give you a better impression of owning two different watches (I do know they're both very different but the strap will put the emphase on that in my opinion). As well, you will be able to change the strap if you ever want, let's say, a leather band or something different.

Well I am 60 and at 26 I was happy with my Seiko. But my 20 year old son wears a moon phase Speedmaster and my 23 year old son wears an Omega Seamaster so they may be in the Patek arena when they reach your age. Times change. The Nautilus for sure. I went with the AP Genta version, but that is just because I thought the PP was too high a price.

Great watch.

hmmm

unless you plan to wear the pateks upside down, get the royal oak. actually even then, get the royal oak as the 3120 is a much finer movement than the patek 324 SC. those movement references are from memory and I am not going to google them up, but I think you get the idea.

the base patek movements are nothing special and you are just paying for the patek branding.

basically a starter patek should be the worldtimer or annual calandar chrono. when I see a lesser patek on someone's wrist, i assume he is just a wannabe poser.

the 5711 has a waitlist not because its an icon, but because there are lots of wannabes who want to join the patek club, but can only afford a 30k entry fee

So, anyone who buys an " entry " watch of any brand is just a poser of that brand.
