Let's say you see a classified ad on TRF with a watch you like, something offered by a well known trusted seller. How do you verify that the person you are contacting via PM here is in fact that seller. If their TRF account got hacked, you could well be wiring money to a scammer.

This occurred to me when I noticed a gmail address in a post by Ponycar350, when most of his ads do not contain one. I went back and searched older posts by him and found a few that referenced this same address, so the post is legit. But someone who hijacked a TRF account like that for a few days could steal a lot of money:(

Appears we have at least 4 accounts (now suspended) all caught by this simple scam in the past 2 days!

Do NOT use a link from ANYONE to log into your account. ALWAYS use your own favorites link, or type the web address to your browser yourself.....

I just received an email regarding a watch I am selling in the for sale section. They asked me to login to see their collection for possible trades. I did and nothing happened I could not see their collection. I then realized something was not right and started researching what had happened. I now realized that person got my username and password. I quickly logged in properly and changed my password. Am I now safe? What could they have done in that short period of time? Attached is a picture of what the email looked like
