Tried the Boss Hog #5 (Mauve's edition) with a buddy who got it as a birthday gift last week, and I have to say I was underwhelmed. I definitely wouldn't pay the prices now, since Master Distiller Dave Pickerell passed away last week.

I much prefer the 15-year and the simple 10-year.

On a more positive note, we killed a bottle of High West's Rendezvous Rye over the course of two nights in Sedona. Quite a lovely and smooth rye, for the price.

Bought this last night - Bob Dylan’s whiskey company, first ever release of a 10 year old age statement from them. Unfortunately, I didn’t care for it much. Young wood, almost piney tasting instead of oak and definitely not worth the price.

I stumbled into this. I really like the regular production Angels Envy, so we will see about this one.

Hope you enjoy. I’m scared to try it. Angel’s Envy is a tad too sweet for my tastes.

Did a second round of hunting today and found nothing really. Trying out this WP 12 bestoke finish.

I just finished a bottle of the regular WP. I do have a bottle of the 15 year I have not opened yet.

Angels Envy has always been one of my favorites.

No you aren’t buddy! They were doing flights of ORVW 10, VWSR 12 and VWFR Rye for 18 dollars or any of the three for 7 each! One night special. And....there was virtually nobody there taking advantage of it!

I had a flight and another pour of the rye.

My first time having the rye it was good and more earthy than I expected. Very oaky to me anyways. You could really taste the barrel. Quite enjoyable.

Nice! I didn't know you were into whisky as well

The price you paid is very cheap though, they charge that for a glass of JD over here, in Euros

Wowzers, what a great deal!!!

I thought the $16/shot I paid for 2018 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon earlier this week was a bargain. That has nothing on this!

No this is in buffalo New York. I could have sat there all night and drank the whole bottle there was hardly anyone there taking advantage of it. I think because they didn’t advertise it too much. Food is excellent there as well so a great night!

The 2018 is quite tasty IMO, especially if you like a caramel honey aspect a la Macallan 18 year. The highest proof that OF has ever done for their BB did catch up to me. Or maybe it was drinking a few doubles over the course of 4 hours or so......😬
