Plastic Crystal Cleaner - What is it called and where can I find it?
Need it for 1960's Dome Crystal

Yes, Crest works great. Make sure and take off or cover your bezel/insert so you don't scratch it when your polishing your Crystal.

I've used plastic headlight cover cleaner, works very well.

On my Speedmaster, I always use a Cape Cod cloth. I lightly buff the crystal with the wet cloth for about 45 sec to 1 min, let the solution dry, and then buff it off with a clean cloth. Then I usually wash the watch with hand soap and water just to get the solvent off.
I do this once or twice a year, and only because I have Cape Cod around the house. I don't know if Cape Cod is more or less abrasive than Polywatch, but it works great. I find Brasso and toothpaste to be too coarse... they always leave swirl marks for me. |
