5513 dial mystery

Hi friends,

After selling my 5513 from 1969 I've searched for a newer one and in better shape. Recently I found the example below but I can't determine if the dial is genuine or rewritten...
The serial dates the watch 1979 but the dial I think i'ts newer (wg surroundings), the "problem" I have with this dial is that the S has the shape from a Type IV dial, dial used until 1984 but the WG surroundings was introduced after this year.

What do you think?
Thanks,

I believe the while gold surround came after 1984
so NO it can't be 1979

If you dated the serial number to 1979, then the dial is wrong for this vintage. The dial itself, though, looks authentic...going by the two pics you provided. Going further, the hands don't match the dial (patina) so I wouldn't be surprised if this is a pieced-together "Franken."

Could it be that the dial and hands were changed from a newer model? I've seen on eBay and different other sites many rolex with a different color on hands/dial.
The serial dates the watch 1979.

pass. the dial is the "newer" service dial version. the hands may appear to be lumi service hands (i think they may even be aftermarket but would need to take the underside of the hands). neverhtlees it means that you will need to spend quite alot of money to bring this to former glory (relative to this watch).
