Icon5 Kello - iPhone 4 APP for Timing

Anyone use the Kello app for timing? If so, what microphone do you use?

Thanks...

Got it to work OK but it isn't particularly accurate, more a curiosity.

Here is a video describing how to use it with the standard iPhone headset

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzAujDzT8ao&sns=em

The results are comparable to professional timing machines from companies like Witschi. If you have never used a pro machine before, the results can be misleading. It's important to keep in mind that watches will gain or loose time differently in different positions and in different states of wind. To get an idea of how a watch will perform overall it should be evaluated in several positions. At Rolex, in after sales service, watches are measured in five positions in two states of wind, and then those results are averaged to give a projection of the rate.
