Incoming: Seiko Presage Sharp Edge SBP169

Just received the Seiko Presage SPB169 and I'm absolutely stunned at the quality of this watch. Many people have been complaining about Seiko's recent price increases as they have been making a move upmarket but the brand is still shooting way above their price point and this piece is a perfect example of that.

The SPB169 is a part of the Sharp Edge collection where Seiko harkens back to some more of their traditional case designs. With strong angular design and beautiful blends of polished and brushed surfaces, this watch catches light in a way no other brand other than Grand Seiko has been able to do.

Now moving on to the star of the show, the dial. This dial incorporates Japanese Asonaha pattern which based off of a hemp leaf and Seiko calls the color Tokiwa, which is the color of evergreen trees. This is a mesmerizing dial that changes colors in every light and changes from a deep black to a bright green when in direct sunlight. Hands down the most amazing dial I've ever seen on any watch at any price point.

A Grand Seiko for only a grand!

Couldn't agree more. I think Seiko really punch above their weight and the value for money on a dollar for dollar basis is excellent.
