I've had a blue 41 and other sports references and these 2 plus a Speedmaster are my perfect 3 now.

See. I thought just the opposite. The longer lugs on the 6234 give it a “bigger” appearance. Compared to my smooth bezel 6200.

I read great advice on this board not long ago. Someone said:

"Get fluted jubilee, because your next piece will almost certainly be on oyster bracelet with a fixed bezel"

Great advice in my opinion. The only caveats being if you foresee your next piece being the new BLNR or SkyDweller.

Hypothetically, if someone wanted to buy an oyster and swap out a jubilee, does anyone know how much a new oyster bracelet runs from Rolex?

I really like the look of the fluted with oyster but I want to keep the jubilee as well...maybe summer and winter looks!

What do y’all think would go with my combo (DJ 41 steel fluted basel in blue dial)?
Jubilee or Oyster?
Buy whatever fluted blue dial you can get. Then buy the other bracelet to dress it up or down as you see fit. Good luck!

At your age I would go with smooth bezel/Oyster. Looks great, sporty and is a good bit cheaper sans the gold bezel.

The 116 models are more substantial than the 126 models for the 36mm DJ.

I called over 30 AD’s to find the last 116200 in the UK, in the configuration below.

Fluted + Oyster is the most sporty and elegant in my opinion. I'm obsessed with my DJII!

i just sent my dj 41 to nyc for service, and told them to switch the bracelet to jubilee. it would have been way cheaper to get the jubilee in the first place.

Oyster over jubilee, especially if it will be your daily wearing piece. Jubilee would make more sense to me if you have a Sub or GMT on an oyster. I've gone for a rhodium smooth bezel DJ41 and went with the oyster. I overthought it a lot, but ultimately found the oyster is youthful, sporty, under the radar and looks good with both bezels. The jubilee only looks good in certain configurations - it's the type of thing where once every couple of weeks I may want to put it on for a day but wouldn't want it daily.

At 23 i would go oyster and smooth bezel, I personally feel the fluted and jubilee would be too dressy. Unless u like to dress up everyday.

Rolex DJ - Jubilee or Oyster?

I got my datejust in the jubilee. My blue dial came with the smooth bezel and i thought the ouster would compliment that perfectly so i ordered the oyster bracelet through my AD. $1500. I put it on and immediately noticed that it changed the watch entirely.

The jubilee is lighter and the end links hug your wrists so it’s way more comfortable a watch. The oyster end links stick out further so the watch doesn’t sit as nicely on the wrist. It’s also heavier.

I wore the oyster for a month and then went right back to the jubilee.

My vote is jubilee regardless of age. I think younger guys rocking the jubilee shows a lot of class.

By the way, I’m 48 if that makes a difference.

No one here has mentioned the biggest difference (for me). The Jubilee bracelet is much more prone to stretching over time. This was the deciding factor for me when I got my DJ 36, fluted, Oyster last summer. When I realized this, the decision was really quite simple.

I have and love DJ36 configuration on the right. Like the bulkier case, makes it feel more sporty. I've been wearing my new 41mm SubC date as my new daily, but will likely switch back at some point since the DJ36 is so versatile. I also like the chapter ring with the mini romans.

Dressier is jubilee, sportier is oyster, pretty much sums it up.

The older ones have that problem. Rolex corrected this with solid links and has implemented ceramic into the links to minimize stretch. Newer references won’t have the same problem.

Good to know. I was not aware. If this is true, I probably could have gone with the Jubilee, my original choice.

Every watch is unique. Your combination is tough to beat. I think the white and Roman numerals dress the watch up more, so the oyster balances it out nicely. Great looking watch would not think twice about it. I wish I had the polished middle link on an oyster, looks fantastic.

I would go with the Oyster as its more sporty. I have the exact same one and love it, but the decision at the end is your preference.

Mine is on the Jubilee, and I'm not a huge fan if I'm being honest. Although it is starting to grow on me.

If your heart is set on the Date Just, go with your gut. The Jubilee is the go-to on the Datejust IMO.

I had a 2019 ss w/ smooth bezel DJ41 in rhodium I sold it and got a 2020 DJ41 blue dial smooth bezel with jubilee bracelet. I wasn't crazy about it but when I got to the AD and tried it on it looked amazing. Way better then ss.
Good luck bro!

Rolex DJ - Jubilee or Oyster?

I prefer oyster w/ fluted bezel. Jubilee never sang to me much.

The one on the right is the watch I actually bought and agree it is more bulk to it.

I too have a Sub C date and whilst I love it, I have to agree with you, the 36mm DJ is just so easy to wear and versatile.

I love them all but age is irrelevant for me!!!
You cannot beat a Blue Face DJ 41 fluted bezel and a beautifully remastered Jubilee bracelet.

The new Jubilee bracelets are not your old grandpa hollow and flimsy ones anymore. They are solid and comfortable, yet maintains that Rolex classic look.

I have both on my various Rolex watches and I always seem to gravitate to the Jubilee; it's so freaking comfortable on my wrist...
