Vintage or modern bracelet?
My 7206 bracelet spontaneously broke today (without any sort of impact). Luckily I was at home, so I didn't lose the watch.
What would you do? 1. Get the 7206 bracelet repaired and wear it. Authentic, but I risk losing the watch if it happens again. 2. Get the 7206 bracelet repaired, store it, and wear the watch on a more modern/solid 93150 Oyster bracelet. An acceptable replacement and much safer, but not original to the watch. 3. Other |

I would have the bracelet repaired and then store it and wear the watch on some NATO's and leather straps. If I wanted the Rolex Oyster bracelet look I would find one in good condition and wear it. Great watch.

Is it just that the pin has come out or has the clasp itself broken?
If it's just that the pin has come out and won't stay in then a bit of Loctite will sort that out. |

Wearing my 1016 on a 93150 today - sure it's not RIGHT but firstly it's a heckuvalot better than my 7206 in terms of comfort and solidity and non-jangliness, and secondly who is going to give me stick about it in my own house during a lockdown. It's just a bracelet

Just curious how the bracelet failed. Did that pin work its way out? That would be an easy fix. How is the condition of the bracelet overall?

If it’s a daily, I’d go 93150. Not as charming but it’s more practical.

And I'm a bit uneasy about using the bracelet if it can just fall apart this easily without any previous signs of fatigue. |

Option 2. So nice to have the original rivet for occasional wear, but for safety and day-to-day, I'd mostly use a 93150. It's what I do with my 5512.

A gilt needs a 7206.

Leave it on the 7206. Press the pin back in, use some loctite on it or ‘stake’ it. It will be fine. They are just pressed in there from factory.... ages ago.
Don’t wear it on modern. |

Periodically inspect active bracelets for developing issues. Wear the bracelet that you enjoy the most.

Option 2. Better safe than a chance of it happening again.

Either option is fine, although I would like the modern, and unworn-out 93150.

Easy if you know what you're doing. But I'm not going to start self-dentistry at my age.

Definitely personal preference. Personally, I would get a handful of different straps for some variety.

Happened to me once while going down road at 50mph with arm out the window. As soon as I brought arm inside window, Snowflake fell to my feet inside truck. Now I am on NATO or NOS 93150 when wearing.

Yes. Which is why it is on a NOS 93150 if going steel, and usually on a Leather NATO.
