BLNR vs. LN. size difference?

I came across this pic on a Rolex FB group. Ever since I bought my 116710 LN, I have felt it was a little small. I also have a 42mm exp II so I just attributed it to that. Then I noticed one of my local ADs has a BLNR and it seemed a tad bigger than my LN. I didn’t have my LN on to compare them but when I came across this picture it seems to confirm what I feel. Are the 2 different sizes? Rolex shows them to be both 40mm but the BLNR just seems a little different.

Always beware of close-up pictures with wide-angle lenses.

BLNR is closer to the lens. On digital cameras, a 1mm difference creates a huge difference in image processing. I've seen photos where a Submariner can look the same size as a Deepsea because of the angle.
This picture illustrates that.

Hard to tell, but the lugs look slightly better contoured on the LN. The reality is the new wide lugs business is all smoke and mirrors anyway to "appear" larger. Reality is, Rolex devised a compromise by appeasing the big watch trend folks while keeping them all 40mm in size. Unfortunately they just made them more blingy and noticeable. As in most cases with a compromise, no one gets exactly what they want.
