How often should you test a dive watch’s seals/crown?

I have a 3.5year old Black Bay. I wear it for everything, including swimming, but once in a while I wonder why not just take it off for these activities. We talk a lot in these forums about modern divers being able to withstand real world abuse, but the reality is one faulty seal would ruin the watch. How often should these things be checked?

Thanks everyone.

I'm thinking just wait until the recommended service time. If for some reason your worried a trusted jeweler should be able to do a water pressure test for you as well.

Pressure test from a watchmaker once a year is not a bad idea.

Only when serviced, but I assume that seals are starting to deteriorate after 5 years or so and treat my watch accordingly.

To go for a swim? Check the crown, and jump in.
