Love the dials but will need to try on before final judgement is passed. I hope the bracelet doesn’t taper quite as much as the 15450.

Will need to hold it in person indeed. I can see guys and girls wearing this 38mm chrono. Interesting that they didn’t do 39, but bigger than 37mm in comparison to 15450. 38mm is the new sweet spot?

Very interesting. I think 39.5mm would be perfect, but maybe this one fits large. Hopefully.

39.5 would be great as my 41mm chrono is too large for some of my friends. I know some girls will wear 38mm chrono, so this is actually great for them as the current chrono is too big for their wrists.

Any reason why they opted to use the old movement instead of the new in-house one?

Seems strange to me...

Because the F.Piguet despite its age, is the only movement that can do both the size, thinness, and has the technical capacity to work in such a chronograph.

AP, VC, Breguet, and BlancPain have been trying for 40 years to replace the movement with something "better" none of them have been 100% successful, just proves how good that movement is.

Even Jean Claude Biver said the 1185 is the best chronograph movement period, he wanted it for Hublot Hayek would not sell him any.

Very interesting, thanks! Looks like we may have to wait for the 41mm RO chrono to get the in-house movement...

Its because of the 11m thickness I suspect the in house chrono is much thicker than the f.Piguet which is 4.8mm thick.

I'm interested. I hope this leads up to them releasing a 38mm Royal Oak plain dial. My wrists are 6 inches only so this would fit me perfectly.

You read my mind. Having owned the 15450 and now the 15400, I need something in between bracelet wise, so I'm really hoping this 38mm bracelet is something in between, like the 15202.

If so, I'm all in.

Clear case back (please please please)?

I own a 15300...

I love these - save for the date. Wish they could have omitted the date ala the Daytona.

Very nice for those who like the smaller sizes or have small wrists, I love the gray dial but I'm biased.

It's more or less similar to the 39mm AP (25860st) made before no? Same F. Piguet movement, but a bit smaller case size this time.

Look great - 38mm could also be a very good size for many.

Because F.Piguet is much better than what they manage to produce after 20+ years of trying. Funny how the company that bills themselves as "complications driven" can't beat a product that is 40 years old. I'd stick with buying Blancpain then:)

+1
Many people knock on AP for not having an in house chrono, but the 1185 is a SOLID movement.

Love the size, not crazy about the dials...

Was hoping they'd install the new movement though.

Will it fit or be reserved for the 41mm? that's the real question.

Presumably the neighborhood of the 41 mm version. Likely a bit less. I’ll hazard 22,5

If it was 39mm I would probably pull the trigger.

These interest me. The 41mm on the 15400 was always too big for me.

I think AP is trolling us. People have been begging AP to bring back the 39mm ROC since 2012, and now they give us a 38mm version.
