There can be model updates to 5711 and 5712 but no way will the two watches be discontinued. There is huge demand and they have existed for years. 5726 is a different case altogether.

I think there will be replacement models, like the 5712 following the discontinuation of the 3712. Or the 5711 after the discontinuation of the 3700.

The 5711 and 5712 have been around for a while, and it's probably about time for new model replacement after a 12-13 years' run. Anyway, this is just a wild guess and there is nothing concrete at this point.

Thankfully I have zero desire for an AC Aquanaut.

To me - the 64 is THE Aquanaut.

I agree with you, on no AC aqua, as its a sports watch

But the 5968 bosses the 64

5980 for a Patek Chrono for me — the travel time complication (to me) is just more utilitarian

It is the only steel AC for men still in production so would be disappointing but the aquanaut could follow in the same metal which would be a top seller past the current Nautilus variant which, until mid 2018 was a sleeper and easy to get due to low demand.
Wait, 5168g discontinued?? Already??

Exciting Basel times ahead!
Are they going to discontinue all three 5726 models?

5726/1A was introduced in 2012 and ADs were getting less 5726 models compared to 5711/5712.

I am hearing that the 5968A will be discontinued. I am either getting hoodwinked or if I'm right...I got the scoop early. Has anyone ever heard of Patek retiring a model after one year of production? I realize it's just a rumor but if I don't share it....it's not a rumor :)

Received a message from my AD today that the 5968a is being discontinued. He’s still trying to get me one but isn’t hopeful.

The rumour of the 5968 being discontinued was posted by Patekaholic but subsequently removed.

I am not convinced that Patek would discontinue it after just one year?

That would be very odd unless they have a new chrono movement and are just tweaking it.

I heard the same this morning, the list of discontinuation is relatively long, 5726A included, in addition to 5168G and 5968A.

Maybe it will be replaced with a blue dial version?!

In that case, why remove the white dial? I feel like Patek is trying to simplfy the Nautilus line to only a few models - the 5726 on bracelet was probably not a big seller relative to the other models, so removing it now makes the lineup simpler, and allows for the other models to have more units created.

If Patek is sticking to no more than 20% in Sports Watches - removing 500ish units of the 5726 in bracelet form (or whatever quantity) means more 5711's/5712's/5990's that seem to be selling more.
