Datejust Bezel Changed?
Hey guys, I’m not too familiar with the modern Datejust line. Today a client showed me their 6 digit blue dial Datejust with fluted bezel. He purchased it for his wedding about 5 years ago. He told me that since then they have made the fluted bezel “thinner and less chunky”. Is this true? I haven’t noticed any photos comparing the two with noticeable difference

Yes - true. When Rolex release the “126” DJ line as an update for the “116” DJ line they introduced several changes to the line. On the new “126” line, the case is smaller and thinner, the batons are narrower, and the fluted bezel is also different. The “116” was a more sporty version And the newer “126” is a little more dressy IMO.
Hope this helps! |

Yes it’s true. I don’t know that the 116 is sportier and the 126 is dressier, but yes the proportions have changed. I do like the updated proportions better. Side by Side it’s very obvious.
