I recently realized a life long dream of getting up a rolex Sub, and then found a Milgauss that grabbed my attention so much i just "had" to have it (As gauche as a blacked out Milgauss is, I loved it at first sight even if it doesn't have any value).

Both were purchased at seemingly legitimate storefront jewelry stores in the developing middle east. I realize they weren't authorized sales points, and the conditions of the boxes and warranty cards indicated they were at least refurbished. They appear to be real, or else the most epic fakes I've ever seen. Can any of you experts weigh in for me?

I saw the milgauss for sale from a supposedly reputable online vendor and thought it might have been a "modified" real one. The Sub has the etching in the crystal so I thought it was fine, especially since they both came with warranty cards and in "genuine rolex boxes". I feel foolish for not seeing the obvious... and poorer. HA! What are the big tells?

I'm not fishing at all. I paid WAY too much for them. I guess it begs the question of whether the store i bought them at even knew because they market specifically to politicians and dignitaries in the region i am working in, which is what led me to believe the store wouldn't sell fakes. I am not sure what kind of refund policy you can expect out of a store in a place like this. I actually didn't buy TWO fakes, I bought four fakes as I got a pair of the Subs for a couple of my co-workers.

Edit: Store had me pick out the watches from a 2011 rolex catalog and then ordered them from a place in Switzerland (Supposedly)... paid half up front to get them to order, and half at delivery. When i got the warranty cards they had stamps from a jewelry store in Sa'ana, which I thought was even weirder. Alas, hind sight is 20/20... all I can do is sic the police on these guys. Odds are there is no refund to get, even if I can get them shut down.

Sorry this says it all for me...

Try in the future to hold off the impulse buy's, good luck getting your $ back.

You comment that you paid way too much money, and previously comment that one of the watches may be of no value. So which is it?

Conflicting reports in your posts, given you bought for co-workers business must be very good indeed, if you in fact paid full Rolex retail on these?

1. go to the store and asking back the money! Now!
2. Inform the local police, that they are cheating on people
3. If does not work, hire an advocat to get back my money.

Allow me to clarify a few things:

1) I'm in an area of work that kind of requires I be vague on some of the details here. I am not trolling or Phishing or trying to find out how to make a better fake. I am simply in a line of work where my professional and personal dealings are best not openly discussed.

2) I paid full Rolex retail on them, as I was led to believe they were the real thing. Something I felt quite confident of after a brief look at the catalogue.

3) I am embarrassed, but I did my internet reading and these watches didn't have any of the things I usually see as glaring "fake" signatures, so I bit. I came here because I was certain you gentlemen, and or ladies would have a more trained eye than myself.

4) To answer the previous gentlemen, I was sure the Milgauss was not going to be worth its full amount even if it WAS a rolex, because it had the modded black coating and the saphire bezel. I just happened to like it, so i went ahead and bought it. Does that make more sense? I wasn't trying to make conflicting statements, just that I was aware to a true collector, this watch wouldn't be worth anything.

EDIT: Where I am, I'd do better to hire a hit squad than to hire an "advocat"... unfortunate reality of being in an unpleasant geographical area.

Dare I say it's probably not such a good idea to be spending that kind of money on anything (but your freedom) in any place you could term "an unpleasant geographical area"

However for what it's worth the Sub would have fooled me, I have never seen one in the flesh and from what I can see in the pictures the "scratches" seem to be marks on the case side stickers and on the crystal, well, they just seem like finger prints.....

This is a troll...there is NO way on this planet that this guy paid full retail for these fakes thinking they were the real deal and then responding the way he is...every single legitimate Rolex owner on this forum would be livid beyond words...seriously dude...give it up...that milgauss isn't even in the catalog

I am NOT a rolex owner... apparently not even now.

That Milgauss is offered by several places that modify rolexes, obviously not in the catalogue. Where I am these guys value "bling" over the stock rolex anyway... they want the diamonds and such and are willing to pay for it.

As for my reaction? What can i do? I operate with a lot of leeway in a semi-permissive environment where losing face or getting mad have a lot higher consequences than losing 30k in a deal that was meant to build rapport with the people I work with.

Dear Sir, I can assure you that you are not the first nor last person who has to be vague about their line of occupation, or who spends their time in the less than pleasant geographical areas of this planet on this forum.

Where you spend your hard earned $ on items in these areas, buyer be ware. Remember do your home work. In the case of Rolex watches, a lot of home work, beyond what the internet can offer, mind you I wouldn't venture too far away from this forum if you really want to learn.

The items non watch related I have purchased in less than pleasant geographical areas were done with the knowledge that I will blow my $. I was prepared to risk this against the intrinsic value normally placed on these items. Some items I purchased were good some were sub standard.

But these items hold memories of where I have been over the years and have history for me and my family.

Do what ever you can within the laws of the land where you are now to re coupe what ever you can. Putting aside the hit squad.
