Lume on my Tudor Watch

Hi there:

Bought my Tudor watch a month and a half ago brand new from an AD and just noticing that the Lume doesn't stay bright for more than 10-15 minutes even after being worn through out the day in a bright location. After that, it seems to fade fast and difficult to read. Is this typical? I own the 36mm Black Bay with a blue dial.

Is this your first lumed watch? Check out the Lume Wars series from Just One More Watch on youtube to get an idea of how long it will last. I can read my BB36 fine after it's been in the dark all night (my eyes are adjusted of course).

No it's not my first lumed watch. I had a Rolex Sub Non date that I got back in 2005 and it seemed to last a lot longer than the Tudor.

Never had any problem with the 4 Tudors I've owned. Legible all night.

Second.

Yeah, it fades, but once your eyes adjust to the darkness it's fine.

Lume varies but it should last 8 hours. But it needs to be in a dark room.

I own a BB GMT and a burgundy. No lume issues with either.

Lum feeds on UV rays and sunlight only contains a portion. If you really want your watch to be bright all night, try hitting it with a UV light for 10-15 seconds before bedtime, and it will be blinding!
And, as others have pointed out, after your eyes adjust to the dark, lum will be much more visible; so, waking up in the dark after several hours, there should be no problem seeing the lum.
