Datejust 41 blue or rhodium???? Post Rhodium pics please
This is basically an updated version of my last post as I should have talked about this more in it.
So I’ve ordered this.. Blue baton dial Smooth bezel Jubilee bracelet. I love how it looks but I’m a bit worried the rhodium will go with more clothes. I’m not a suit guy, usually a T-shirt or sweatshirt and jeans. A few guys on here have assured me it will go with anything but I’d like to see some pics of the rhodium spec of anyone has some? My AD only have a rhodium dial with fluted bezel and diamond markers and I can’t get a good idea of it from that. Thanks. |

Rhodium and let me explain why. I love the Rolex blue dial. I think it’s one of the better looking blue dials on the market. However I bought a date just to wear with a suit mostly. Unfortunately the blue dial on the day just is very sporty looking. That’s not bad it’s just bad for a suit. I don’t need any more sports watches. I have the Pepsi, hulk, Daytona etc. I needed some thing that can go well dressed up. Rhodium and especially the silver dials fit that perfectly for me. So it depends on what you want this watch for. If it’s casual and a sporty look and you can’t go wrong with blue. However if you want it to wear dressed up I highly recommend a more toned down dial and that would be rhodium, Wimbolton or silver.

Rhodium. Easily dressed up or down and the way the dial changes color is fantastic.

I do not have pictures of the dark blue stick dial when I owned it for a few weeks while wearing a suit. I do have pictures of my silver dial with a dress shirt though. Would you like to see that?

I think the blue is stunning but the Rhodium is not far behind and more versatile. I do work with the colors of the dials of my watches with my clothing and find that more color neutral a dial is the more it works across all my clothing. In a deep collection it is not an issue to have several of each but in a one, two or three watch collection it is more important. I would go Rhodium but world also add the fluted bezel. Good luck.

I have a Breitling superocean heritage with black dial. Breitling Super Avenger II with blue dial. I’m hoping to get a Sub off the back of this with black dial. |

Dial changes from light to dark depending on lighting. I think the rhodium dial makes the white gold bezel really pop. Looks like a million bucks in person ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Never had a problem with blue being versatile. Looks black can wear with anything. Rhodium is dull and not great in the summer IMO. I had white and black before getting the blue. Just as versatile.

Truly the best looking watch I have ever owned/seen. Only problem there might be a longer wait.

Blue is nice but rhodium is more versatile. Depends on the rest of your collection. Blue if you already have some options, otherwise rhodium.
I’m after a fluted rhodium on jubilee one day. |

I like the blue dial, but I would only buy one if it had a fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet.

I don’t know if you have a blue datejust or not, but it is 100% versatile. I thought the same thing until I owned. From this picture you see how it looks black. I show this angle because this is how people see it when you have it on. The great thing is for the owner, it turns into a fantastic black/blue when you look down on it. I can wear this with anything. Black, blue, gray suit. Any shirts, looks great with jeans, shorts and dress pants. OP if you like rhodium better get it. But don’t base your decision off of versatility because it is a false assumption.

I went with the blue. I was underwhelmed by the rhodium when I tried it in. The dial was rather dull.

Rhodium and it’s the one I own.
Dial is amazing and the whole watch just molds into one from the Junilee bracelet, flutes bezel to the Crown and dial. Amazing. |

Rhodium is nice but looks somewhat lifeless compared to the blue.
