Good week ! Finally ! GMT Master II 116710

So I’ve been trying to sell my OP for a while and finally found a decent enough offer to sell, originally I thought I would keep it forever, but such is life I fell in love with the black face GMT, to my surprise one became available in my area, scrambled 2012 with stickers. It checked out with my jeweler and considering how hard they are to find right now I basically got it at retail. MAN IM GRATEFUL. And I was also in the market for a new lease So I obviously pick the color to match the watch !

The LN doesn’t seem to command a premium in the resale market. Although it’ll never be in my collection, I think it’s underrated. Congrats.

That's the Miami roll up. They all park on the grass. It would drive me crazy if I had to see that everyday.

Love the watch though and the car looks good too.

Congrats!

I can’t help but wonder what will hold its value better? The watch or the car?

What will give you 20 years of service without a hiccup?

I’m thinking both for that one !

Well I plan on keeping one for a lifetime and the other technically isn’t mine and I only get to have it for 36 months!

I think you are right, both will give decades of service..

But the cost of ownership is vastly different even if you only consider maintenance and depreciation (not saying a watch is an investment).

At the end of 20 years, the watch will be worth at least what he payed and maybe even surpass the consumer price index. The car will eventually devalue down to near $zero.

Yet, to your point, both are smart buys. Esp since he loves both.

Congrats. Nice car, and a nice GMT.

My LN is my daily more or less. It’ll be with me for life.
