OP41 vs DJ41. Side By Side.

I was able to do a quick side by side comparison of my OP41 and my buddy’s DJ41.

Good picture, I see little difference, a date complication and a fluted bezel, that's it.

The fluted bezel makes the DJ look bigger. Both are great all-rounders.

The difference is negligible to me. As noted, the fluted bez *does* seem to create the illusion of being larger, but they're more or less the same to my eye.

Odd that the DJ looks larger when it only measures a hair over 39 mm

This is a 41 OP, not the 39 correct?

Even though I have an OP41 on order, I still really wish they didn't do the double batons.

With you on that. I loved the simplicity of the previous batons.

That really shows how bloated the DJ41 is. It’d look worse if was the smooth bezel. Again, it’s massively better than the DJ2, but it still need to go on a diet.

Looks like is not really a 41 then , DJ 41 are known to be around 39.5 , bummer I was hoping for a real 41 .

Rudimentary pixel point check using that image shows the dials being close enough to be equal in size, although it sure doesn't look that way to me.

You’re not comparing apples to apples here. Different color dials and different bezels.

More spec trickery from the mothership. I assume wears just like the outgoing 39

Don’t like double batons at 6 o’clock. Might be ok at 12. But it’s no diver so why bother marking a reference point so prominently?

Can you measure the cases? I'm wondering if the OP41 is actually 39.5mm like the DJ41.

There were initially people claiming that the OP41 is actually a full 41mm unlike the DJ41. I was almost entirely certain that OP41 is at most the same size as the DJ41 at 39.5mm if not the same size as the old OP39 at you guessed it, 39mm. This all but confirms it is the same size as the DJ41 if not smaller. Look at these pictures.

So I found a website that allows measuring using images. I measured the lug width on DJ41 as 21mm. Then I measured the lug width on the OP41. Which I found as 20.21. Lugs are actually 21mm on OP41 as there are people who use DJ41 Jubilee on OP41 so it must have same lug width. (And due to peculiar shape of the bracelet end links on the DJ41, I'll argue most likely also the same case.) So they most likely differ due to different distance to camera and slight imperfections.

Then let's look at measurements.
3-9 on DJ41: 39.65.
3-9 on OP41: 37.31/20.21*21=38.77
2-8 on the DJ: 40.59
2-8 on the OP: 39.33/20.21*21=40.867

Based on those two dimensions (and inaccuracy in my hand drawn lines) I would argue that they are basically the same size. There is no way the OP is actually 41. It is smaller than 41 even with a liberal correction factor.

Polished case on the DJ. Brushed case on the OP.

Thanks for size comparissons; the DJ does look bigger, apparently because of the flutted bezel

I don't really see the difference; at least not enough on which to make a significant bet.

To my eyes, the dial appears slightly larger on the OP and the DJ looks larger overall

OP41 vs DJ41. Side By Side.

Like the DJ41, the OP41 is 39mm too, and is actually slightly smaller than the DJ.

Amazing how Rolex continues to blatantly lie with their stated watch dimensions. Why not just make it 41 mm or just continue to call it the OP 39. I don't get it.

I'm with you.

The good news is, I was told the OP now has the EZ link for adjustability.

I don't think the 39s had that.
