This trade makes sense?

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about a possible trade and would like to have your opinions.

Here is the deal ;

I will get ;

LNIB AP RB2 Rose Gold Limited of 257 pieces
BNIB AP Michael Schumacher Titanium Limited of 1000 pieces

and I will give ;

AP Michael Schumacher Rose Gold Limited of 500 pieces
Rolex 11610LV Hulk
IWC Top Gun Chronograph Ref. IW388001

+ Cash

Without thinking about the cash needs to be paid, does this look a logical trade for you guys, for the sake of a collection? I really love my MS Rose Gold, but I also love the titanium one (and actually thinking titanium fits better to the general motorsports concept) and thinking to get one eventually even if this trade does not work and the RB2 is a more limited piece (257 vs 500).

And also what would be a reasonable cost to pay for this deal on my end?

What do you think?

Thank you!

Salih

That would make the trade too expensive.

Are you still considering the Volcano/ ceramic Diver or does this trade supersede that? I wonder how much you might miss the pieces you trade away, perhaps buy the new pieces rather than trade? Unless you think you wouldn't miss 'em.

Volcano/diver is a different story.

I really don't like the titanium Schumacher but I love the rose gold version. It would be a no for me, but if you like ti colour combo and the cash is burning a whole in your pocket then do it.

I can see that the problem is that you're wanting to shift two watches that are the weak links in your collection but I don't think this dal is the way to do it and as you seem a bit obsessed with the size of the limited edition run you are considering swapping a LE of 500 for one of 1000?

Limited Editions make more sense to me for a true collection. With this deal, I'd give one with 500 pieces, and get one with 257 and the other with 1,000 pieces.
With that perspective, this make sense to me. My only dilemma is I like the Schumi RG too much, maybe I should trade the IWC + Rolex for a Titanium Schumi. 2 Schumi in one collection wouldn't hurt, right? :)

Seems like a good trade. Titanium MS would be a keeper in my opinion.

Errr guys, unless I am mistaken, this is not correct.

The RB2 in rose gold has 500 pieces.
The RB3 in rose gold has 257 pieces.

In 2008 AP gave a one-off (yes unique) RB2 with a 257 inscription on the back (which ultimately was also used for the RB3 I believe) to Mr Barrichello and this has become known as the Barrichello 257. As a unique piece, it is still owned by the man himself I understand and has never been on the market. The rear of the case I believe shows the serial as simply "No.1".

I may be wrong of course but if the OP is interested in very limited pieces, then he needs to know whether the RB2 is actually 500 or 257 pieces.

Roger you are of course spot on with this.

And to be clear my vote is for the RB2 not the RB3.

I would keep the RG Schumi and add the Ti RB II .

The two best looking AP ROO's in my opinion.

Good luck!

I wouldn't stare at the limited edition factor, 257 or 500 doesn't really matter, and there is always this and that limited edition and when you add all of those up...

Go with the design that signs to you and that you will end of wearing/enjoying. The rest is just in theory...
