Two different kettles of fish. I would, but that's because I don't fancy the DD or YG. The 5167 is a lot more low key and light as a feather. They could not be more different watches.

Depends on whether you prefer some bling and weight on your wrist versus stealth and very little weight. I've had both a DD and 5167 and still have the 5167.

im not a fan of the DD, but i still wouldn't do it for a 5167. For a 5164 absolutely. I would do it for a 5168g as well.

I would. 5167 much more versatile. I'm not a fan of all gold rolexes. If it were all gold 5711 or 15202or then its a different story.

As an only watch? Maybe.

Depends what else is in your collection.

I would not. DD is totally different from the 5167. There is a hit to be had in selling the DD I would think . Both would make a great duo. Light and under the radar or bold and bling. Neat

may i ask ur age and profession?
not a rule, but in general, i'm of the opinion that the DD (particularly the 'president' in YG) is a perennial classic.
however, if u are a younger demo, then not sure you'd start considering/appreciating 'classics'.
and therefore, i could see how the 5167 would catch ur eye.

I wouldn’t do it... DD is an icon and a completely different watch than 5167. Better to add the 5167. I personally regret letting go of my DD....

Flashy gold rolex says one thing in sales. An understated Patek says another. I know who I'd rather do business with

I wasn't a fan of Aquanaut until I got my 5167. I now prefer it over DD40. However if you are going to sell your DD40 you are going to take a hit even if you got it with a generous discount.

I just sold my YG GMT 2 in preparation to purchase either a 5167/5164 as well.
Best of luck on your search.

Just depends if you like the gold. I would go for the 5167r if you do truly like gold. The 5167 is one of the greatest watches ever. Not quite 5522 status but it's wearability is unbelievable.
