I was at tiffany and co a few months back. They were showing me watches in one of the drawers that were still boxed and then i saw the motherload. They had a bottom drawer full of empty brown boxes that they had to retain and had not been thrown out. I almost asked what day was garbage day.

My take on allocation is: It's a tough spot for the AD's, they need to reward those that have bought and been loyal and also spread the love around to satisfy other clients.

Oh wow... I don’t like my chances in that case. Lol

I think it is easier to get an application piece once you have already gone through the application process and have been allocated application pieces in the past. Of course this is assuming you did not pick up the 5131R and the 5370P on the secondary market. Patek has your purchase history and know a little about your background and know you are not a re-seller.

Patek knows who are flippers and who are long-term owners/collectors when they receive a request for an application piece. I don't think Patek necessarily frowns on watch flippers, unless people are flipping the highly desirable pieces for a quick profit.

The 5131/1P should be a nice addition to your existing collection

Congrats to OP.
Don’t know where Brian got it but he has a 5131P now, he showed it at WatchProSite Patek forum.

I'd love to see pictures of the 5070G and 5370P side-by-side.
