Rolex Submariner Fake or Real

Dear Fellow Members:

I would much appreciate your views as to whether the watch pictured below is fake or real. It was taken to a Houston based jewelry shop (which sells Rolex) and they could not make heads or tails of it. The lucite pearl on the bezel is missing. For my own edification, would also appreciate some rationale as why its fake or real. Many thanks.

Forum rules dictate we do not go into specifics, but there are a number of things that stood out to me. If you are considering purchasing this, think twice. If you have purchased it, please seek out a return.

Fake, it has the crown guard of a 6 digit, and the Bezel of a 5 digit, no maxi dial, the dealer was polite in simply declining to call it out as fake.its a bad fake at that, if he really questioned the authenticity he would of opened it up, to inspect the movement, he didn’t need to waste his time.

I'm new to the site and have seen folks pick off reasons for why they conclude them to be fake. It also assists people seeking a return as it allows them to articulate the reasons for seeking a return. This was belongs to my uncle who am certain will try to return it. Simply telling someone "its fake" wont do the trick. Can you personal message me your conclusions?

It's garbage. That's really all anyone needs to know, especially a brand new member posting fakes on behalf of his "uncle". Just my $0.02 of course...

OP you just need to get your granddad to return it he doesn't need to explain to whomever he bought it from.

LMAOF. You guys poking fun sound like a bunch of tools. Your only claim to fame is knowing your way around a Rolex. Like the saying goes "those that don't know watches know Rolex". I suspect you guys are a combination of $30K millionaires or middle age dip shits that worked all their lives to park a BMW in the driveway, flash a Rolex on your wrist while amassing a negative net worth like 99% of the population. Keep stroking your own egos fellas. I will just sit here and laugh.

From OP 's original post this outcome is not terribly surprising.
" heads or tails" is all I needed to see.

I received a PM from the OP asking for specifics. I politely told him that I would not go into specifics because counterfeiters could use that information to create watches to deceive buyers.

I'm still going to be a nice guy. I'm still on the forum and he is not.

Neener, neener, neener.

I NEVER heard that saying! If it was true - Hans Wilsdorf surely would have "trademarked" it

Bye

FALSE.

They already are and with absolutely zero help from a bunch of forum nerds.

Can we please put this to rest now?

You are likely right in many cases.
However, the number/frequency of new members showing up and demanding detailed info on what the "tells" are on the fakes they post is simply too high to be a complete coincidence, IMO.

Further, many here have invested a lot of time/effort educating themselves and are under no obligation to simply give their knowledge away for free. If any of these one-hit-wonder posters would stick around and become more involved/engaged with the forum (and not throw temper tantrums like petulant children, as witnesses above), then I would personally be more inclined to share.
That's just me...
