The Seiko section

Just wanted to say thank you to the active peeps in here. It’s a section that is still about appreciation of watches and not “what is it worth”. You guys are my people and thanks for existing. I may have been drinking.....

Agreed this is a great forum. I find myself lurking here a lot. Another thing I really like about this forum is the wide variety of watches on display. This Seiko thing is a lot of fun when you start to get into it.

Agree!

Very nice and friendly group. I am on other sites where people like to criticize each other. Never saw that here, don’t want to.

Great to hear new members have found this a friendly place. The Seiko people are passionate and the brands depth and amazing value cannot be denied.

It really is a great forum, And I love seeing everyone finding out that seiko is absolutely a wis brand. They are a no nonsense diverse bunch of watches that have literally something for everyone. What other brand can cover you from $200-70k. Unreal. Seiko And Grand Seiko are literally the only watches I seek out anymore. You guys are a big part of why.

Yep, despite a couple of doubters at the beginning, it's turned out really well here since Steve kindly set up this section in March last year. Friendly, easygoing and all about the watches

I share the OP's sentiments. I like the fact that it is really about the watches on this sub forum.

Well done all involved, great to see Seiko getting plenty of respect here.
Nice coming here and seeing guys who are used to buying very expensive watches get thrilled with a Seiko purchase.
Seiko has always been king in my eyes.

I agree with all that has been said above, it is a nice place to visit. I really enjoy the fact that there are no airs and graces, members here enjoy watches from the lowest of price points to those Seiko's that cost more than my car, it's really refreshing.

Thank you very much for starting this forum.

It’s a great departure for me from the usual suspects. There is a special place in my heart for Seiko.

Honestly can’t / don’t even read the Rolex section anymore. Too many of the same ridiculous posts.

The Seiko section

Seiko what a great brand, love it. I got totally lost and lost my enthusiasm for Rolex..love my Rolex watches but it’s a dead end as far as collecting....can’t get the new models without huge premiums......Seiko has opened up a whole world of collecting to me ....other that the vintage watches, you can get any model you want and almost all with discount. Pound for pound they match any brand and come out on top in most cases. The Skx007 / 009 and the Srp777 other Srp model all get the the nod from all level of watch collectors and enthusiasts....absolutely love my Seikos and they get all my wrist time.
Priced well
Look great
Get the nod from the top collectors
In-house movements
My skx007 runs at +2 s/d
- Skx009 runs at +4 s/d
- Srp777 runs at +2
Srpa21 runs at -2 s/d
My spb079 runs at +1 s/d

There’s as many straps that are made specially for them, can modify them if you wish and if you fancy the vintage route that world is huge as well.

What’s not to like....absolutely adore the brand

Though I don't own a Rolex yet, I admit to being a bit of a Swiss watch snob (Omega mostly) in the past, and then I acquired a vintage Lord Marvel that really opened my eyes up to the Seiko brand... Today I'm wearing the 777 Turtle that has not left my wrist since the day I got it in early July.

Seiko is an interesting brand, from very inexpensive Seiko 5s all the way up to GS and the stunning Credor.

I have also opened my eyes up to Orient (which I think is a sister brand to Seiko?)...anyway, I have two Orients as well, the Bambino and the Orient Star classic, which I call my poor man's Patek... It's really a sharp little dressy watch on a black strap.

My turtle, and both Orient's are keeping time well enough, just a touch outside COSC specs (+7/8 secs)... great value for the money all around.

Still want a Rolex though...esp the EXPII 16570.
