It’s like, the best turtle ever. Watching shark week with it on is especially satisfying.

Seiko is an interesting brand, from very inexpensive Seiko 5s all the way up to GS and the stunning Credor.

I have also opened my eyes up to Orient (which I think is a sister brand to Seiko?)...anyway, I have two Orients as well, the Bambino and the Orient Star classic, which I call my poor man's Patek... It's really a sharp little dressy watch on a black strap.

My turtle, and both Orient's are keeping time well enough, just a touch outside COSC specs (+7/8 secs)... great value for the money all around.

Still want a Rolex though...esp the EXPII 16570.

Lovely watches....that Orient Star is stunning....I don’t have any Orient yet, that may change soon after seeing your photos.....great selection.

Thanks to Steve and the mods for creating this subforum. This, together with the WUS subforum, has really educated me on GS and Seiko.

I now spend most of my time on either this or the vintage Rolex subforum, rather than the general Rolex subforum.

Thanks also for all the GS and Seiko fans for keeping this focussed more on the watches and the brand, rather than on all these other ancillary issues that seem to dominate the general Rolex subforum. It is much more refreshing.

The problem with this thread is that we are in fact doing what we say we are so glad we aren’t doing. We’re talking about how nice it is to focus on the watches and not get caught up in the other stuff.

I’m so glad this section is here- I’m a Seiko fan to the core- I have 7 of them- I need to start posting some stuff!
And I agree that this section is virtually all watch enthusiasm. As much as I love Rolex and PP, sifting through the “flexing” and future value content gets tiring...

You’ve taken the words out of my mouth...
Where’s the Female respect for Seiko here besides Michelle (Kinnakeet) and I?!

This is by far my favorite sub forum on TRF.

It's all about the watches here.

That's a damn fine pickup there Randy. Purple and yellow interplay, dial and subdial pattern, seconds track, all perfect. To use an analogy befitting the season, that one is right at the top of the tree of 44GS releases.

I'll echo a number of the comments on here - this is the only part of the forum I look at with any regularity. For years I lurked here because it is a great source of information overall for watches in general. About four years ago I discovered GS and got my first one. They're just amazing. This part of the forum loses a lot of the attitude of other parts of the forum and it's nice to see people chatting about cool watches.

Thank you. It's a Japan only limited edition SBGA419.

I started a thread about it here:

Love it here. Bought my seiko mostly because of this forum and it’s all I really wear anymore. The Rolex’s are happier in the safe anyway as they became increasingly
embarrassed to be seen with me.

In 2014 I bought my first GS. Never saw one before and bought blind online from an official GS dealer in an other country.
Now we have one GS AD here but in 2014 there were none.

When I got it I was so amazed but confused at the same time. Amazed at the high level of finish of what you actuality see when wearing a watch. This was better than any other watch I had seen before.
But also confused as it was so much cheaper as any of my Rolexes.

Than I discovered the Seiko Presage line and again I was amazed at what you get for the money. These watches feel expensive, look expensive and are very affordable at the same time.

So I started to really dig GS and Seiko.

In 2017 I Sold all Rolexes beside 2 as souvenirs from the past. I just didn't wear them anymore.

Today, like you, I also own 7 and have become a huge fan of the brand

Regarding your last point. I agree 100%. It is a sad state of affaires.
