Icon7 Help me choose an SUV...!!!!

Hey folks, I need to buy an SUV... life is so hard with the cars we have. I drive an Audi S7 (I regret getting that car...) and my wife a Mercedes C300 Coupe. I have a massive German Shepherd and find myself hauling a lot of large stuff.

I think it’s time to add an SUV. I want the largest models. 7 seats, lots of space... I like the american SUVs but I’m shocked at the sticker price... A fully loaded Lincoln/Escalade +$85k...? Expedition/Tahoe, not much better still extremely pricey for what you get. I noticed while riding Uber Black that these vehicles get very clunky and rattly (suspension seems inexistant) after 50-75k?

Some Asian SUVs seem to offer a lot more and stay very reliable. But (I hope I don’t offend anyone) I feel like a soccer Mom driving them...

Any ideas? Recommendations! I appreciate any and all the help!!

Land Cruiser/LX570 If you plan on keeping it 50-75k miles.

Can’t beat a Lexus/Toyota. The new Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator are nice also.

A Landcruiser is the best bang for the buck on the market IMO. It's a real SUV, quite capable off road, loaded with features, and will last a lifetime with minimal maintenance.

Or, a Cayenne Turbo. Sacrifice some space for some speed.

Those are my two options.

Get something with a low rear deck height for when your Shepherd’s hips go.

If looking for a German suv I say Mercedes Gls. Volkswagon Atlas. American Chevy Tahoe I actually drive all 3 and they are great.

I love my Lincoln Navigator. I switched to Lincoln from Lexus because they have the most comfortable third row. I'm 6'2 260 and fit into it comfortably. I had to switch because I once spent 7 hours in a car with my kids in the same row fighting the entire time. I immediately went looking for a car with a comfortable 3rd row so they would each have their own row. Lincoln had the largest 3rd row of every brand I tried. I'm now on my 3rd one and have never been disappointed.

We have a 2017 Chevy Suburban and absolutely love the truck for both the build and space. Fully loaded will still run you about 20-30k less than the Escalade and 10-15k less than the Denali. I believe the 2019s now have a larger engine size available if you need the additional power.

For hauling the dogs about, you can’t look much further than a Land Rover Discovery!

Or Range Rover, Mercedes GLE, X5, Q7, Cayenne...

My wife drives a sequoia. I’m a large guy and the third row is plenty big for me, and the engine has plenty of punch.

What?

They’re good for 500K.

Source: Family with nearly 700K in Toyota SUVs.

Seriously though, NOTHING can hold a candle to the Land Cruiser or the LX.

American cars are all junk and the Range Rover, while pretty, is a phenomenally overpriced unreliable piece of shit.

Toyota Landcruiser or the Lexus LX570 would be my choice. LC would be the best bang for your buck

Do you typically buy or lease your vehicles?

If you lease - Cadillac Escalade leases very well compared to the others

My sentiments exactly......I just wasn’t trying to offend anyone with an American car or a Range Rover.

MB GLS would be my first choice for a large SUV that seats many. Luxurious, and well built. Go with the 550, nice V8 engine with good pick-up for the size.

My wife has an Audi Q5 and after her lease ends I am thinking of getting her the Q7. She has had it as a loaner and loved it. Curious why you regret the S7. I was thinking of that as a potential replacement for my X5 since we don't need two SUVs.

I only skimmed this but did anyone mention Sequoia? Tundra with seats where the bed should be essentially.

https://www.autotrader.com/car-revie...81474979890303

I have an '08 Tundra and at 91K miles, it runs and feels like it's new.

Dude, if your opinion about an automobile on the Internet offends someone, that is THEIR problem.

Until last year I was driving E’s and CLS’s. We had a baby and I picked up a tahoe and love it. I’ll probably always have one here on out.

I happen to agree completely.

And I have a Range Rover. And I absolutely love it.

But agree with this comment.

honda crv is a massive hit over here, maybe a bit small for your needs though.

knowing what i know about vehicles, learning the hard way, and now learning through understanding, its either toyota or honda, forget anything else.
