Is it possible?

I know my V serial 16610 Submariner date (2009-2010 model) isn't due for a servicing for another 4 years or so (bought BNIB on September 26th 2014) but I was wondering if it's possible when it does come around for service if the hair spring can be replaced with a blue parachrom one? I've heard the advantages of the newer Rolexes having one (anti-magnetic wise and more resistant to shocks). Is it possible? Or will it just be more practical to leave it as is? Also when it does come time for servicing I was thinking about sending it into Vanessa, what's the turn around time for servicing? This is my only watch now and feel lost without it when I'm unable to wear it (especially at work on most days lol). Thanks guys!

I might be wrong as I tend to work on vintage rolex, but is the blue parachrom not fitted to the 3136 and the 3135 is normal? Also I think the two have different shock adsorption systems and 3136 is a bigger movement. If 3135 never came with blue then I can't see Rolex liking the idea of having blue fitted.

Just a thought I had I guess. I kind of figured it couldn't be done. Anyone know the turn around time for a service though?

3135's and 3130's have been fitted with the parachrom for several years now. You would not notice any difference with a change though.. The comparisons they market are for "standard" hairsprings which Rolex has not used for decades..

As to Vanessa's turn around time, why don't you ask her that..

The nivarox spring is also anti magnetic, the prachrom is not that big of a difference.
The new Syloxi hairspring would be a better choice to replace.

Normally the hairspring is attached to the balance and it is available only in 1 piece i think.
Replacing the balance and hairspring will be a relatively expensive operation. I think it could double the service costs.

Dumb question and not meaning to hijack, would a first generation Deepsea have a blue parachrom spring?

Yes it has a parachrom hairspring but no big deal either way,the parachrom was first introduced in 2000 with the cal 4130 in the Daytona, but then it was more of a grey colour instead of the now artificial blue. And if the parachrom was so wonderful ask yourself why it took almost ten years to introduce into most of todays Rolex range. And in normal wearing would doubt if any real difference whatsoever no matter the name of the hairspring in the case.
