Hajime Asaoka watches

very cool ... one man shop watchmaker

not the nicest looking or maybe the most precise ... there is something to be said about making your own watches from scratch

Not recommended if you like responsive service.

He is known for not answering emails after payment is made. A year or two later, the watch arrives...

He's a good watchmaker, you just have to know what to expect.

I saw this watch on Gary's wrist this past summer in Santa Fe and had absolutely no idea what it was. He told me the story but, thanks JD305, for putting up the article from Quill and Pad so I could read the whole story.

My AD told me the wait list for the entry level watch Tsunami is now 5 years. Hajime is also known as a kind of reclusive. But the watches themselves are definitely gorgeous.
