Can’t go wrong with a submariner or GMT

That's a very vague question. Are you looking for a larger sports watch such as a GMT Master/Submariner.

Rolex is king of resale, many other watch brands take a very large hit when being sold secondhand. I'm currently looking to acquire an Omega Speedmaster Moon Watch.

Eventually I would also like to get a IWC Big Piolt & Zenith El Primero.

Give us some more details to what you want in a watch such as

Date Stamp?
Chronograph?
Any plans on swimming with it?

You can't go wrong with a Rolex.

Could buy 2 or 3 NICE watches and rotate. Omega, Oris, Tudor, etc.

This had been on one of my "lists" in my head: https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/w...ection/product

Seamaster 300... I know it's a Rolex forum, but I think it's more attractive in person & is a lot of bang-for-the-buck for a "99%er" used one. Invest the rest & save for something gold... That's what I'd do.

What's crazy is he/she could now *possibly* get one for retail or near it, in all this mess.

Rolex GMT or Sub is a great value for under 10k. The watch should hold its value. Looks great in a t shirt or when dressed up.

Welcome to the forum. Quite a few of SS Rolex can be had in and around that price at retail, but finding them can be challenging.

You could also look at Tudor, Omega or Grand Seiko.

I’d also enjoyed consider Panerai if you like their style, they are fantastic watches IMO.

I would highly consider 2, 5K watches. You can get a very nice sports watch (Omega Seamaster/Speedmaster) and then a more dressy watch (grand seiko perhaps). No reason to blow your load on a single piece.

A Rolex Submariner Date or a GMT Master II (your preference as to which) is the watch you will have for the rest of your life. Personally, I'm a die-hard Sub man. Simple, versatile, rugged as hell, still beautiful under a shirt cuff if dressing up, and more water resistance than I'll ever need. You will never want to trade either a Sub or a GMT for anything else. You will not have any nagging "what if" thoughts in your head about having gotten something a little less expensive.

If the budget is one Brand new Rolex watch for 10K then a Sub or Sub Date or any GMT.

If the budget is 10K for one pre-owned Rolex then a Day Date 36mm.

If your budget is just 10K and you would like multiple watches - first buy the brand new Rolex 39mm Oyster Perpetual (great entry level watch). With the other 4K, I would get the titanium Tudor Pelagos ( looks like a sub w/date and is made by Rolex)....
You should have about$300-$500 leftover, with that go out and have a very fine dinner to celebrate!!

Go German- get a GO. 10k will get you some thing really beautiful and well finished, especially in the movement end.

A Sub Date, a SS 36mm DateJust, 36mm OP or a 39mm OP with a white or black dial. Both classic, Rolex pieces. The latter goes for $5,700. A great, versatile watch. I personally prefer 36mm-40mm simple, traditional style watches.

Search under the cushions on the couch and get a little more money and buy a vintage GMT. Pride of ownership and appreciation.
