Ferrets usually have longer tails.

I know it's pretty and likely rare but likely not rare enough to cause significant extra value for the watch. Just my take. Looks like a great watch; congratulations!!!

Cheers fellers... I'm not to fussed about the value...I was looking for my first rolex for ages and when I see the dial I just had to have it.... The dealer falsely called it meteorite... Only recently I was told it was ferrite :)

I have seen a lot of DJ and DD dials here over the years, crown collection alone has a Million, but I have not seen that so yes very rare, Per other comments may not change value but it looks great and sounds like a keeper anyway.

I had a friend in college with a pet ferret name Ferret Fawcett. Does that count?

Never seen one before. Is it OEM Rolex? If so, cool find.

The dial is original to the watch... The women's one 26mm I have seen is the same year as mine... Maybe they was only made in late 80s... I have seen many day dates with it though

Rare, I would say yes.
Valuable, nothing out of the ordinary but a little more I'd guess.

Datejust and Day-Dates have soooooo many dial variations. Congrats and enjoy.
