Protecting the straps
The majority of Panerai straps are leather so I was curious if you guys treat the straps in any way to protect them from water or sweat?

Do nothing to them at all.
I have a "beater" strap, or the rubber, when I know it will be somewhat abused. Other than that, Nothing at all. I know, some guys treat them with oils & lotions. I think they are Metrowatchial kinda guys.

Straps are meant to be worn. The more you wear them, the more characterized they become.
No need for protection at all. Once you've worn out a strap to below 30%, strap on a new one! :) |

Some will age and darken a bit, think of them like a great pair if jeans, they get broken in, get better with age , but will hit a point of no return.
Sajing that, I have not tosse any old straps, just change then up and do use the old ones occassionally
