Life isn't fair! I'm not a big spender at my Patek AD but we get along, like each other, and are friends. He knows I buy all my Pateks from him. I refer potential business to him. The price is more important than gifts. Rolex AD, I'm a good customer, was told I'd have a Daytona C over a year ago and I'm still waiting. Life isn't fair.

I imagine a lot of people on the waitlist will pass when the offer is extended to them. Some people lose interest or change their mind after some time or they have already purchased one from elsewhere or they have funds tied up and they can't immediately fund the watch purchase.

I wonder if UK ADs hold back the Certificates on the 5711/1A. It will probably reduce the number of flippers or resellers.

Kind of wish they did. Might speed mine up - I intend to keep mine so would not mind if they did this

They don't. Most grey market comes from USA. In fact in London there is a dealer that will not buy a Patek under 1 year

It is very unlikely that you will find one.

A really beautiful watch choice if you can find one. Hopefully the wait isn't 6 years but that timeframe is consistent with information from a visit to the London AD late last year with a 5711 in tow. Not a hugely expensive investment by Patek standards, but I was surprised by the attention it got even by the AD. One Bond Street Rolex dealer offered me 3 new Rolexes in exchange! I politely declined.

A quick photo to spur you on. Wish I could find a way to capture this well and load up higher definition photos.

Best of luck in your search.

Yep, Davos AD in Switzerland, forget about the 5711, got mine fast but because it was my 4th watch from them in less than a year, but I put a member here in relation with my AD and he got a 5712 in less than 2 months, which is very good for Europe...

Should produce more 5711

No question about it, Thierry is obsessed with not producing this reference. Its rapidly becoming the model defining the brand whether they choose to make it or not. Not a nice way to treat your customers in my view.

so underrated! I would get this one before the blue! Love my 5712, but never had any affinity to the 5711 blue.

Awesome!

How can ADs confirm delivery dates when they get so few year? I called many ADs asking for a 5711 blue and got the runaround. Time frames ranging 6 months up to 2+ years. Some of the ADs wanted deposits ranging from $3,000 to $12,000. One AD requires a large deposit with an expected delivery date towards the end of the year. Some weren't even adding names to their lists.

AD's know their allocation dates generally a year in advance. Patek does production runs and this is pretty structured. I know that they have a 5320 for September etc.

This is correct and i appreciate my AD who always give me a timeline allows me to plan also. Hence a relationship is generally helpful in getting these Nautiluses.

Even for limited production models like the 5711/1A-010? I've heard smaller sized ADs may get two 5711 blues per year, so that is one about every six months. A medium to larger sized AD may get three to four per year, so that's one every 3-4 months or so. Are these realistic numbers? That being said, I suppose ADs can estimate delivery dates...

One AD I contacted said they have one on order and I'm next with an expected delivery towards the end of the year. This seems very promising. We shall see...

That is correct. The AD i use gets 4 5711A a year 3 blue and 1 white. Despite the blue being popular the white is actually rarer and far less of them are produced. They get 2 5712A and 1 5990 a year. All of them are allocation models so there is an extremely thin chance u get one walking in. If you are not on the allocation. that's when they tell you ok maybe 2018, 2019 etc as usually the 2018 ines are already allocated also, hence the long wait times. A different approach to Rolex that's for sure.

Similar to you Karl
I should get one next year, though at this time not sure actually when.
Apparently, early next year Patek will advise each AD on the number of pieces that they will be allocated.

In Hong Kong, about 2 years for 5711 or 9 months for 5712 Blue dial. If you are a professional, such as lawyer, doctor, you can have it faster than any body else.

Congrats Karl! The white dial is indeed beautiful, having worn it for 2 weeks now. It is so versatile and light that you don't feel like wearing it.

So true! And he makes it a point to state this in articles and interviews.

Yep! We know that Patek and Rolex could pump out these models, but they choose not to, so they keep supply down...
