Third Party Service - Original Parts?

Hey guys, so my understanding is that Rolex does not sell parts to outside service providers. So if I were to get my watch serviced at some place like ABC, JoT, Four Crowns, etc.,. if a part needs to replaced, are they just using non-OEM parts? I contacted a couple places and they say they are able to "source" OEM parts but I don't see how that could be consider Rolex's strict policies. Could someone shed some light on this?

Rolex does sell parts to some independent watchmakers that meet and maintain a high standard. It's called having a "parts account" if you want to inquire specifically if they have one.

Ah, the BH RSC told me that Rolex does not sell parts to outside service centers. So does anyone know if JoT and ABC have a "parts account"?

Third Party Service - Original Parts?

Watchmakers are a pretty tight knit community with Sub cliques . Ordering parts for a buddy and exchanging favors is not unheard of...

Plenty of CW21 watchmakers who keep their qualifications/equipment current have Rolex parts accounts. All you have to do is ask them if they have one.

Rolex does sell parts to independents as I am and have one but I do not sell parts by themselves only during a service are they installed so if someone is telling you this they don't have or can't get a parts account something not easily obtained. Rik

Rolex parts sales ARE controlled. It appears that in order to acquire OEM Role parts from Rolex, you have to have an approved Rolex account as they don't sell to just anyone. Doubtless, these accounts are not handed out to just anybody, and IIRC, that means that any Rolex non-AD watchmaker would have to maintain the highest standards of trading and performance.

Like he said. The reason for us most of us Rolex owners to care, is that some of us don't want everything that goes with turning our watches in for service at the AP.

Rikki did a service on and repaired my Submariner using genuine Rolex parts, at a good price and in a timely manner, and I had a choice of which parts I wanted to have replaced, which I have read that the AD service centers don't let you decide.

You need to ask the watchmaker if they have an Authorized Parts account with Rolex.
I've had several watches serviced by Bob and Philip Ridley at Watchmakers International and they use genuine service parts from Rolex.
