I like them, but for the money, there are other watches I would rather own.

I agree. I don't know about others, but I would look at Omega over Breitling. Not to say they are not nice watches, they definitely are, but to me, I'd rather put my $$$ towards an Omega.

I have a Navitimer my father bought in the 60's or 70's as
he flew (had his own plane)
Nice watch IF you need its features...
If not its quite busy.

I wear it and like it.
I wont sell it BUT I wouldn't buy one...

Some breitlings are nice, but I am more attracted to other watch brands to spend $$$ on them.

The Navitimer is the best of the Breitling line, but at the cost I would rather buy another Rolex.

Breitling is a great company and they make very good watches.

No offense to anyone, but lots of people get hung up on the Rolex name. Breitling has been around since 1884 - they're no flash in the pan.

If you like the style of the watch, go for it! I'm sure you can easily get 25% off right now if you shop around.

I'm fan of Breitling (I own the CA), but not all of their designs. The same applies to Rolex, (I own the SD), but not a fan of all of Rolex's designs.

If you like it, buy it... don't worry about what other people say.

well said the thermocompensated quartz are toughest and most accurate quartz watches out there...Breitling is tough and good.

The navitimer is a classic...beautiful watch...if you like it, there is nothing else to worry about...Breitling is a very well respected brand that makes watches that can take a beating ("instruments for professionals"), so dont worry about anything

I'm a Breitling fan and owned a Callisto (mid-size) for about two and a half years. Great watch and no issues. I ended up selling because I always found the 34mm a tad too small and ended up moving to the larger sizes. Love the Pilot's bracelet!!!

I think Breitling makes great watches. They're all certified, durable and very reasonably priced.

What I really like about Breitling is that they have a pretty large selection of straps. My SuperOcean came with a steel strap and last year, I got a rubber strap and I have a leather one on the way. All three straps drastically change the look of the watch itself from tool to dressy to all-around. Like having three watches in one!

I've owned a few and have always found them to be very well made. Here's my current one which I aim to keep for a very long time!

I have a Breitling Super Avenger with black dial and silver subs. Very large watch at 48.4mm but the Professional II bracelet is fantastic and helps the watch fit my wrist beautifully. Also bought my wife a Colt Oceane (superquartz) which she absolutely adores.

Totally agree. A great watch that has a place in a collection to be sure.

i just sold my white dial super avenger - it was so large and flashy, I didn't wear it much.

but now I really miss it.

I paid under $3,500 for it from an AD last year. I don't think rolex makes anything on par with a super avenger at that price. It was a very well made watch with perhaps the nicest SS braclet I have every worn.

I like the navitimer, but I agree breitling pushed the price point a little high on that one. And it is very busy unless you're a pilot.

The Navitimer range are probably imo the most famous of the Breitling brand.
They have been going for as long if not longer (not sure which) then the Rolex Submariner.

I like some of the Bentley models, especailly the 6.75. Almost got one last year. They are nice watches and I like some of their bracelet designs.

Dave Chapelle wears a Navitimer, can't argue with that!!

http://www.breitlingblog.com/?cat=32

I have a Breitling Navitimer and have no complaint AT ALL. I need none of the features but to be perfectly honest I hardly use to it tell the time either.

Very eye catching watches that hold great value for re-sale. No complaints.

Have a 24H Chronomatic, and my Skyland Avenger has been sold in anticipation the the new B01 Chronomat with the new Breitlin inhouse movement. Personally I love the, but not all - like most brands, great build quality and designs - if a model catches your eye go for it

Cheers,

Stephen

Personally speaking I like them. I have had my "Old" Navitimer for over 10 years. For a long time, I alternated between the Navitimer and my Daytona as everyday watches. I recently bought my GMT IIC, so that will become the third menber of my everday watch group.

I have the traditional black leather band with white stitching as well as the seven link SS band for my Navitimer and often switch the bands, just for a different look.

When did they start using outsourced movements? When I was buying my first one in 2004 the sales clerk was selling the fact that they made all of their own movements and even built a new facility with "white rooms" or dust free zones where they were assembled. She even gave me a book about the new facility. Then last year I was at the Laguna Seca Moto GP and the sales man in the Tissot tent told me that his $400 watch used the same movement as my super avenger. I’m glad I didn’t argue with the wanker now as the more I hear about it the more I think he may have been close to right. (right as far as ETA movement wrong as far as SAME movement)
I have been under the impression that they were one of last few bargain brands that still used in house movements.
Anyone know more on this?
