My condolences Greg. I know words cannot bring your wife back or make the pain go away. But always remember you have family here and if you ever need a shoulder to lean I’ll listen. Stay strong and only time can heal this and you’ll need to take each day at a time. Again, very sorry for your loss.

We were told today that my dad has cancer, in the pelvis bone.
He's currently 70 years old (my mom is 55), and we're also in the progress of finding out if he has alzheimers/dementia... Brain MRI will tell more about that...
Both my sister and I still live at home. So this is going to be a rough ride...

Sorry to hear of this Bas. Good luck with it all. Things can get rough at times but your mum will need your help and strength.

I'm too sorry to hear that, Bas. Cancer sucks.
Wishing you and your family a lot of strength and energy dealing with the diagnosis.

Bas and Greg.. so sorry to hear, life can be daunting ! You are both in my thoughts and I wish you both peace. Like Cecilia, I have been here but not really active! Life has been busy as hell and not slowing down anytime soon.
I wish you all well and to hang in, as it does get better.

Thanks for the kind messages

Unfortunately I have a pretty sad update,
The cancer is lung cancer which spread to the pelvis and the brain, he'll be lucky if he makes it to the end of the year...

I don’t post in here much, but do check it out once in a while.

Bas, I’m very sorry to hear this about your father. I wish you and your family all the best during this trying time. I lost my father and mother in their mid-60s. As mentioned, cherish all the moments with your father.

Ladies, what should I get my mum for her 50th, a family member suggested a mulberry bag, but they're about £1000 and I'm not really getting it like that, any ideas?

I know my post is very late since I only discovered this thread, but I'm sorry to hear about the news for both Greg and Bas.

I can't imagine losing a wife and I hope you'll be able to take things one step at a time, Greg.

I just lost my grandmother of 93 years old and it was a rough ride since she raised me. It wasn't cancer but instead recovering from a surgery. I can only imagine what your family is going through now. I hope you'll be the strong support your father, mother, and sister need right now, Bas.

Everyone on this forum has been helpful as I learn more about watches and it's great to see a thread like this.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

Thank you for your kind & thoughtful message

Dad's health is rapidly declining and he'll soon go to a caring home with 24hrs of help available in a second. His brain tumor is making everything so hard and since there's not enough help at home this is the best solution.
Hard times.
