I’m so sorry to read that news Greg. I had a lump in my throat as I did.

What you need right now is to have people to talk to. Whether it’s online, in real life, wherever. Don’t bottle it up, have a stiff upper lip, none of that bullshit.

Talk about how you feel, talk about your Wife, let it out.

Greg my deepest condolences. It sounds like your wife enjoyed her day and was able to enjoy some of the simplest things that day. She was able to spend time with you, enjoy a conversation with her daughters, water the plants she sought to care for, and enjoy the company of a loved pet.

I can only give some advice, I don't know how you feel, I got sick of people telling me that they knew how I felt when my wife died suddenly at the age of 37, 20 years ago, I also got sick of people telling me how "time is a great healer," it's not, but what happens over time, is that we learn to cope with it, the pain is still there, even after 20 years, but I have learnt how to cope with it without breaking down.

You will still be numb, still expecting her to walk in the door, you will still wake in the middle of the night expecting her to be next to you. My heart goes out to you Greg, try and share your grief, I didn't, I kept it bottled up and it didn't help.

If you need to talk, give me a PM. I don't know how you feel, but I can relay some of my experience, I found it helped when I suddenly found out that what I was thinking and feeling were normal, others had, had those feelings that, at the time I thought were weird for me to feel.

I wish you well Greg, it is a long road you have to travel, but you will get there my friend.

My condolences to you Greg. You were attentive, caring, loving husband. She loved you, you loved her. Plenty people are married, with no love or compassion for each other. What you had was special. I can't imagine how hard this must be for you. Everything your feeling is normal. I would suggest being around people, interacting, and staying connected as much as possible. A support group would probably be a good idea to try as well. I wish you the best. Stay strong, you are worth it.
